This could get a pain on the arse as a Falkirk fan. I guarantee an away Tuesday night in Elgin.

I do feel sorry for hughes

He is falkirks most successful manager but was hated when he left. He took us up, Europe And survival in the spl with a cup final and semi in the league cup.

It was just his style of football. He tries to play utter possession football which with mundane players is tedious.

He also has a habit of signing duds on huge wage bills but no one can argue with his record in Scotland. If he was articulate he'd be highly sought after.

Mccall is a lower league manager without a doubt. He plays the same squad and system regardless of where he goes.

I fear Alex next year. I'd like stubbs to stay as I actually don't rate him ome bit.

He failed bottom line. The fact that you had two bites at promotion IN THE championship! Failed to win in something like 7 championship games in a row, hadn't won away in 11. Beaten to second place and in the play offs by falkirk. The financial gulf is huge. Yet played 11 against falkirk. Won, two. Yup next year you'll walk that championship laugh

You mean the three nil win after we put yous out at the semi and rested half our squad for the final with nothing to play for. laugh

I don't remember hearts having a bigger budget, a club that had entered into administration before walking that league.

I take nothing away from his Scottish cup triumph. But I'd be seriously worried if I were a hibs fan. This year in the championship you'll have

Dunfermline
United
Morton
Falkirk
Raith
Qos
Ayr
St mirren

I honestly wouldn't be so confident. You'll suffer big team syndrome. Your Ayr, morton and raith etc will be gunning for yous. They'll never challenge you but to them you'll be a scalp. Add in falkirk, United and Dunfermline. These teams will push you all the way.

You've been running at a loss for two years I understand. Could you afford a 4th season in the championship?

You'd think on your third attempt at it you wouldn't be so confident to get out what is a tough, tough league. Just thank your stars there is a play off. As it was even worse before with one up.

Och, get a grip - were the famous Edinburgh Hibees and we'll win the Championship.

The Bairns will be a challenge as will Dundee United. That's it.

Glory glory to the Hibees (again!).
Have to say I was gutted after the Killie game but in reflection it's going to be a cracking championship next year. I just hope it's a tight one regardless of who wins the league. There's something special going to first division games with easily 6000+ there. Sure you get spl games with crowds like that but when you know your in with winning something it's that bit better.

Plus they Fife s are back.

Last night the irn bru cup kicked off.

I saw the attendances for most matches were below 500 if not all.

The bounty for teams is £500 extra prize money and free water from barrs the sponsor.

It really is an utter shambolic setup.

This was always a meaningless cup. Ive seen falkirk win it three times. All three were st and nothing to celebrate.
I hope we field our youth and get punted out it.

3 points and a clean sheet for Hibs. Level on points with Raith Rovers who have a tricky tie at Tannadice next week. Looks like the Bairns struggled today?
We will do fk all this season. We have sold our best players and replaced them with past it dross. We are mundane In every position. Honestly it's the worst I've seen us play in years.

Brian Graham should score for fun too - good signing.
Met him in santa ponza whrn he played for morton. He started on my mate and naturally being on holiday I tried to calm it down.

Turns out he was In the same hotel. We spent the rest of the week hanging out with his mrs and him. A typical footballer. I remember him pissed boasting he earned 300 quid a week at morton. Then when his mrs was asleep jumping over the balcony to shag the bird next door. Proudly boasting this to us as his mrs nipped to the toilet.

Oh let it fking go already. I started this thread to get away from the mindless child like arguing between old firm fans.

This was for Scottish football. So yes it can include them but 5 pointless pages of inane dribbling on like kids in the playground.

Why can't yous be like the rest of Scottish football admit your clubs failings, agree if they've been st, laugh about it but most of all not retort with but in so and so yous did such and such that's worse.

The mini series has been great. Its refreshing having it all laid out for everyone to see just how greedy and inept the people in charge of Scottish football are.

The TV deal time destroyed Scottish football. They thought, we're set for life and totally forgot about the rest of Scottish football. Bringing in the 10,000 seater rule was on the back of this, killing a fair few clubs in the process.

Motherwell are a classic example of the top teams looking after their own. A team that should have been relegated and finished off are saved last minute due to denying Falkirk promotion due to them needing to ground share for a season whilst building a new ground. Yet next year allowing ICT to groundshare with Aberdeen.

The organisation is a cluster fk of biblical proportions and clubs are as guilty. The only thing they have done is listen to fans and rightfully demote Rangers to the bottom of Scottish football. May I add I hate Rangers and Celtic equally, but I remember holding back my season ticket renewal at that point because I vowed never to go back if any other decision was reached.

People praise the fact we now have play offs etc, we had these before, fans loved them. Everyone forgets these bds took them away. They never had a sponsor for years for the leagues. The Challenge cup is a joke, the league cup is meh. Its really not fking hard, the problem is all the teams at the top are run as a business and would sooner it stays the same. They don't want a tough league, at least at the bottom. They are too busy feeding of the scraps of the old firm.

The fact we now play in excess of 50 games of a season is a joke, people are saturated with football, and they keep plugging more and more from the fan rather than going less is better. People pick and choose games now (well I don't but most do) years ago they went every week. TV coverage times are fking st, the selling the rights to BBC alba is a joke, or at least the viewing times and choice of games. I could go on and on.

I thought he went OTT about Gretna, how can it be a "ponzi scheme" if the only guy who lost money was the owner?
Gretna went bust owing quite a few million. The league also had to fund them to finish off the league campaign.
That was the problem, it was all very well coming out of his pockets but when his health took a turn for the worse there was no plan or funds to pay back those who had been promised money. Falkirk remains the only club in Scotland to pay back their debts in full once they went into administration.

It must have been a great ride for a non league club but when you leave families out of pocket that's when it ends. The wages they were paying were astronomical, I remember the first division and a fair few Falkirk players at the time being plundered. Take a drop in football standards, but we will pay you £3,000 a week. It was what rangers should have done, with a mixture of youth. Cherry pick the best first division players, a few ageing pros from the top flight and fling in youth. It was some team on paper and to watch though.

They weren't demoted.

ok, they had to reapply. But petty arguments aside and piss takings, rangers are still rangers. On the wind up and technically they are a new club. But can we get over that tbh cause history matters very little in football once a new season starts.

Inciting hatred? Dunno. They'd have to arrest most of the crowd at an old firm game if it was that.

It's not quite the same as Guy Fawkes though. He's been dead a long time. If one of your neighbours bought a dress like your wife wears, and put it on one of these things, swinging from a tree in your front garden, you probably wouldn't be too impressed.

I presume it was supposed to be another zombie joke that missed the mark?
I remember bairns fans singing norie songs burning the calor gas advert in the programme at the cage against Dunfermline. Don't remember any arrests that day.

That hanging blow up doll is quite funny to me.
