Traynor doing his best pointing the finger at everyone else to deflect away from themselves. Why the need for a statement against a 12 yo child while they have twice had sections closed due to racist chants etc. Just point tallying nonsense.

Lets throw a 12 yo under the bus on a case before it's even been heard, as my guess is a not a lot will come from it!

I'm not saying ignore racism, it really does need dealt with but this isn't the way and doesn't help matters! Embarrassing!
If it was a statement of genuine concern about racism it should have been that. It was absolutely nothing to do with racism. It was using the race card to have another attack.

It's not just the stadium closures, a Rangers fan was caught racially abusing Shay Logan just last week. If you're going to make strong public statements for this, then you can't stay silent when it's your own fans caught red handed in the middle of this st storm. Complete double standards as per usual.

Traynor was desperate to get a statement out. I can't understand how he thinks that statement is fair. Any crime is alleged until proven, but he's telling us the boy is guilty and that justifies everything else. It's got nothing to do with anything else.

Strange he managed to respond to Craig Whyte's claims immediately, but needed this racism charge to respond to other unconnected criticism that he faced.

In some ways I'm glad the young guy is 12 and won't be named. If it was an adult then they would be absolutely torn to bits more than any other person that has committed an act of racism before such is the anger Rangers have built.

If the precedent has been set that clubs are going to spend 6 weeks trawling through every social media account and post every incident of offence then it's going to get extremely embarrassing. I already see clips getting put together of Rangers fans being filmed on each others phones in the stands.

Rangers desperately needed to pin someone with racism to pedal their Morelos victim story and deflect from the previous events.

In one sense if the 12 year old has been caught making offensive comments then something should be done. On the other hand after that everything that has gone before, and the fact it took 6 weeks to dig out a 12 year old, I'm sure a lot of people see this being nothing more than the kid being a scapegoat for a desperately flapping embarrassment of a man that is a dangerous mouthpiece for Rangers.

This is embarrassing for Scottish football and especially embarrassing for Rangers.

It's embarrassing for all of Scottish football with all this mud slinging and deflection.

Is there a specific point relating to Celtic you think is really bad?

Keep politics out of football. Don't hate people because they believe in a different flavour of god or there skin's a different colour or whatever.

Have banter and jest. Support your team. Be happy. Enjoy life. End of.

Tonight's prediction, Aberdeen will score a goal (geez they have to eventually), but not enough to win - 1:1

Free pint at the Foundary tonight if Aberdeen score from open play.

I'm going 0-1. With a lucky goal. laugh

Do many of you Aberdeen located folk go to Pittodrie? Although a Celtic fan I take my kids regularly to selected games, eg against Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs. With recent aberdeen form I’ve turned down a few free ones against less prestigious opposition. My son will only go to next weekends match against Celtic if I promise not to bring him to the Ross County one.

I used to go along sometimes when I first moved to Aberdeen and I stayed close to the stadium. I've not been for a while.

I did go to the cup final in the Aberdeen end a couple of years back. That's something I wouldn't repeat.

Celtic fan so I go to the occasional corporate freebie when ‘entertaining’ but I can’t imagine paying.

I think the hierarchy of embarrassment goes:

Celtic for having an (allegedly) racist child supporter
Rangers for a trolling statement
Scottish football by association

I assume and expect that Celtic are conducting their own investigation and will ban any fan for life etc etc to mitigate the embarrassment.

It's never good to hear of any racists within a football stadium. However, let's not pretend it doesn't happen. The only time we normally hear about it is when someone is caught red handed. It's the people caught on camera are the only ones we hear about. This incident wasn't picked up and nobody knows anything about it.

It's been a bit of a witch-hunt to find this 12 year old. The game was in December and this ongoing investigation has taken until February to find this one person. That's a lot of resources to find one boy and this is way beyond anything that has happened before.

If all the nonsense didn't happen with Morelos the other week Rangers and their fans wouldn't have been trawling through everyone's social media accounts trying to pin the blame on someone. It was a desperate and exceptional campaign to find racism.

It's a massive can of worms opened up now. Now fans are looking through Rangers fans videos to do the very same. There is numerous videos already found including a bus load signing racists songs against a Celtic player. We are now going to descend into a game of tit for tat and everyone is going to clipe on anyone they can.

Trolling statement? It only makes Traynor and Rangers look like bumbling fools. Reading the opinions of it and everyone is ripping the piss out of Rangers and can see right through the bitterness. It's shameful. Even a lot of Rangers fans are beginning to see through Traynor. Personally I think it's bringing the game into disrepute and Traynor must be very close to being charged by the police for making out the young guy is guilty.

It's quite unbelievable the events of the last couple of weeks. Rangers need to stop making Scottish football a pantomime, st stirring and stop washing their dirty washing in public.

The biggest losers will always be Rangers as nobody believes anything that comes out of Ibrox.

Could you please help me understand which part of the Rangers statement assumes the guilt of the allegedly racist child?

I don’t see why you’re complaining that fans are looking for criminal behaviour. If there’s criminally racist behaviour going on in our country, it should be rooted out whether it’s in a pub or a bus or a stadium, whether it’s a 70 year old woman or a 12 year old boy. Unless you’re saying that football buses should be exempt from the laws of the land...!? Or the 12 year old shouldn’t be charged because it was Rangers fans who reported him...!?
