Morelos has never scored against Celtic in the years he's been here. He bottles it. There's a YouTube video somewhere and be gets flustered and can't hack the big games.

He only scored 12 goals in the Scottish premier league last season. He's looked hopeless after all the embarrassment of his car incident and the translation stitch up.
Morelos plays as a lone striker against Celtic and tears the defence apart. They put so much emphasis on him that it allows others to come into play. A couple of seasons ago the service he got was terrible so although he didn't score, it wasn't as if he missed loads of sitters, just got a bit unlucky. It's hardly fair to say he can't hack the big games when he does so well in Europe. In fact, a higher percentage of his shots are on target compared to Edouard. His European record tells you more as most scottish teams just have everybody behind the ball against Rangers and he is definitely more to playing a bit deeper.

The car incident was an embarrassment and ultimately cost an editor their job. Another sad and depressing reminder of the treatment that a foreigner can expect in this country. I think he would do really well in a top five league and would be incredibly good value even at £20 million.

He has missed loads of great chances, sitters and even empty goals against Celtic. Is it now fourteen games against Celtic without a goal? He bottles it and it has been pointed out countless times. Everyone knows it.

The editor lost his job over the car incident? They were wrong to report the car had been tampered with, but those stories came from Rangers sources.

The car incident was highly embarrassing, but what did it have to do with him being a foreigner?

Did anyone ever get held to account for the translation either? That was 100% a Rangers translation as it was the "poor wee Morelos" story they always try to peddle.

Morelos doesn't get a hard time because he's a foreigner. He gets a hard time due to his unlikeable nature and conduct. There is plenty of foreigners playing in this country that don't have issues.

It's also pretty hard for any Rangers fan to pull the race card after their conduct when players took the knee in France. Even Rangers players and staff were forced to speak out against their own fans.

Did you watch his last few games?

He got a few goals in the Europa League last year... three goals 16 games in all competitions since December 2019. But if his geatest quality is scoring as long as he doesn't get marked too tightly, then he isn't worth 20Mil to anyone.

SFA complete the purchase of Hampden. Hopefully some plans for redeveloping the "Rangers and Celtic ends" in the pipeline...

I can't see it. The SFA didn't even have the £5M to buy Hampden. Half that figure came from 2 businessmen.

Rangers have signed 2 decent strikers today.

Not a lot of info about the Swiss lad other than he is an international and young enough to improve.

Roofe will be a good signing at SPFL level, should score 20 plus a season and is coming into his peak aged 27.

They definitely look like good signings, and probably a much better proposition than the current pair.

Two in for one out? That would give them 3 first team forwards, when all fit. Enough for most teams.

Edouard is 22. His senior career includes PSG, Toulouse and Celtic, with goals in the Champions and Europa Leagues.

In context, by the same age Jamie Vardy's senior career consisted of Stocksbridge Park Steels F.C.

I think Leicester Loyal is saying Leicester are apparently interested in Edouard, not Morelos?

The thoughts of anyone in the EPL wanting Morelos is kind of nuts
We've actually been linked to both tbf, but yeah I meant Edouard. Stats are better than Dembeles were and looks a very tidy player. Obviously it's hard to judge players in Scotland because without trying to sound disrespectful the standard of teams is pretty poor. He's done it for the French youth team and in the Europa League though, so can score at other levels too.

You can't compare anyone to Vardy, he's a freak of nature, genuinely never seen anyone develop so late as him, go on to become world class and stay there for a good number of years.

Couple of Celtic fans I've spoke to said that the owner/chairman would happily sell anyone for the right price, I'd imagine it would have to be about 30m + though, surely?

Couple of points of reference are Tierney who came through the youth system, and went for 25m to Arsenal. Dembele came it Celtic for 500k and went for 19m. Edouard arrived from PSG for 9m. The board are always ready to turn a profit, but this seasons above all others they will be desperate to hold onto him. Every player has his price though, but I can’t see it being less than 30m. I think it’s more down to the player. If his head is turned by a really big club then he’ll need to decide if he wants to stay for the kudos and considerable party.

Seems to be a bit of a transfer merry go round brewing

Depending who sells their star striker first (Celtic or Brentford) will free up the funds to sign Ivan Toney from Peterborough.

Toney will be a revelation at SPFL level, arguably a potential EPL striker, certainly has the potential and far too good for English league 1.

I think it's closer to 12 and for most of those games Rangers weren't really at the races. It doesn't really matter if he scores or not as long as he contributes to the team winning.

The car incident was set up by the media from start to finish who fed the story about his wife to those gullible enough to swallow it. Would they try that with a UK player? We all know that they see him as an easy target as he doesn't speak the language and is young.

Wasn't it a sky interview and translation?

It's more than being a foreigner. He's a young black guy playing for rangers who doesn't speak english and is seen as an easy target. Given the abuse that Waghorn and Martin received in the streets it's probably more sectarian than racist but definitely a mix of both.

I've yet to hear of any Rangers fan who disagrees with the players taking the knee. In fact, most seem to think it was some fans in disguise. among large supports you can always get 1 or 2 idiots as we have seen with racist behaviour towards Scott Sinclair, El Hadji Diouf and more recently Morelos. Thankfully the days of Celtic fans throwing bananas at the black Rangers players are apparently over.

laugh Why does every Rangers fan on this forum play the victim card? Why when something happens with Rangers fans it's always someone else?

The car incident was set up by the media? You didn't answer the question about the editor being sacked. Where are you getting all this differing information from? It's the first time I've heard all this and I can't find it.

You never seen any Rangers fans who disagrees with taking the knee? It was widespread and couldn't be missed. Rangers staff had to speak out. Fans in disguise again? laugh You can't be that oblivious.

It's because he's young, black and doesn't speak English he's seen as an easy target? He's 24 years old. That's a grown man. Until the Sky interview I doubt many people knew he couldn't speak English. He runs about the football park. What language he speak is irrelevant.

Rangers continuously bang on that he's a young man to try and excuse his behaviour then use it as the victim card at other times. It's a piss poor excuse and doesn't help anyone accept responsibility.

Leicesterloyal introduced that his team had been linked to both Edouard and Morelos. Reading their forums they also see the difference in quality and have an issue with the conduct of Morelos. There is a strong dislike for him by many. Neutral fans see the same thing.

The Sky interview was exactly the victim card that Rangers keep playing. I've never seen Sky pulled up for their translations of other players. Only this one when the script was a copy and paste of what Rangers normally say. It's too much of a coincidence.

Bananas? You missed what happened just the other week to excuse it, but want to go back to an incident in the 1980s? I think we should avoid this kind of discussion if that's your views. It'll never go anywhere.

EDIT... Just found the bit about Morelos, the editor and his car after a Google search.

It's the wild guesswork of one poster on a Rangers forum. There is no substance to his post at all. That's a massive difference to the earlier claims of people trying to kill Morelos and this was proof he was targeted by rival fans.

That’s a really st development. The covid situation is highly precarious and Scotland had been doing great as of late before this latest outbreak in Aberdeen. Will be interesting how this will be handled.
