Elias Melkersen looks like a great signing for Hibs.
Looking forward to see him play. Seems he's happy playing anywhere up front.

If restrictions stay past the 17th I think Scottish clubs should look to booking stadiums down England just like the rugby. Not only will fans travel, it may force the goverments hand to stop this daftness.

Cant wait for the season to kick off again though and get a look at new players and enjoy the ride. Its going to be the best title race in a decade, exciting stuff.
Restrictions will be lifted in time for the Calcutta Cup (which is 5/2).

Reports that Celtic have bid £3m for Martin Boyle. Do any Celtic fans think he'd get a start? I obviously hope he stays at Hibs.

Well that would suck, but it's the way of the world at Hibs' level.

He'll get a start because Celtic wingers can't stay fit at the moment. Being Aussie, presumably Ange knows enough about him to think he can make a contribution.

Strange signing imo. 28/29 no resale value. £3m is alot and weakens another team that actually puts a fight up against rangers.

Another note. With sturgeon now matching England in near everything, numbers falling, hospitals not changing and rugby threats of moving south its looking very likely fans will be back. Moving the winter break was an absoloute brilliant call then. Any club that thought otherwise was completely wrong. Id hope for a public apology from them trying to screw there own fans out of tickets. Not naming anyone so they don't get upset fans will be allowed again and deep down they know there club never stood up for them at all.

Boyle is a good player. I'd still be surprised if Celtic were willing to pay £3m for him at his age.

If they do pay £3m for him I'd think that was a signal that Forrest's career is over due to injury.

Perhaps a bit early to say it's a brilliant call, it really depends upon the possible fixture congestion later in the season. I don't think it is really necessary for Ross County to make a public apology though. Each club had their motives and I'm sure due to a combination of many factors.

Despite the good signings we have made, it would be a sickener to make so many good forward steps only to make a backwards step and sell Boyle to a league rival.

He's Scottish - he was born and raised here. He is eligible to play for Australia as one of his parents is Australian.

He's a cracking player but I agree with you and hotchy on his age.

If he does go, I just hope he gets a regular start. I'd hate to see his talent and potential wasted on the bench.

£3m is a good amount of money to Hibs. It'll help with losses with Covid and maybe more will go towards more players if the move does happen.

We don't have cash flow issues. Or are you thinking it's the good old Old Firm providing charity for other clubs? Lots of nonsense on twitter about Griffiths and other players as part of a deal - I don't see anyone who Celtic would offer who is as important and influential as Boyle is.

ETA Just for the record, I don't think Boyle will move to Celtic but if the £3m bid is genuine then at least Celtic are learning from the John McGinn saga.

It's nothing to do with charity. All clubs is Scotland have to sell players to progress the club.

£3m for a speedy winger coming up for 29 is a strong price. Wasn't it only a few months ago the bids were around the £500k mark?

Yeah, it's a decent price. Let's see what happens. I don't think he'll go to Parkhead.

What fixture congestion though? Games are played during the what was the old break. No upcoming games after that got changed.

Keep seeing us linked with xavi simons at PSG.

Saw a little bit of the PSG-Lyon game and what a player he is.
Doubt it’s anything other than rumours and don’t think mino riaola would advise a good prospect to come to Scotland but it would be something else if we could pull it off.

Also seeing us linked with doekhi at vitesse Arnhem who looks a good player too.

John souttar also being linked, seems to be really doing well at hearts and would be a good free signing but his injury record worries me.
