He'd fked up elsewhere at the time as well which helped.

That tosser grant was the last manager to lose 5 on the trot; G&S didn't bin him them so Slav will be safe.

Might be time to stick a book of football tactics in the post to Rush Green for the weekend though. Also maybe send some lasagne down to wales.

Don't worry about relegation. The bottom three are done for.

Watching a dodgy stream of MoTD, no pressing, no urgency, Ozil's goal was a joke (good finish though) and Walcot's should never have been allowed to happen. Can't do much about Giroud's from what I saw of the replay but I missed the build up. Static defense is very worrying, were we just knackered from all the first half defending? Saturday is a huge game.

No, we're just st.

Surprise is we went in 0-0 @ HT; Super Slav then gave one of his inspirational Speeches, which prompted the usual second half collapse.

Apparently Carroll and Antonio were taken off to save them for Saturday.

Probably wrapped in cotton wool for the next couple of days.

Hopefully he'll start Sakha on Sat w/ AC. Adrian needs to come back into the team as well.

Coincidence that our defence has collapsed since we sold Tomkins?

Personally I always thought Reid & Tomkins were our best central pair with Ginge as back up.

Tommo wasn't prepared to sit on the bench whilst Slav's preferred pairing of Ogbonna & Reid started though so I think decision was taken to let him go - w/ hindsight (etc, etc) we should have locked him in a cupboard until after Xmas.

German POW's apparently enjoying West Ham v Bradford during 'ze war'. Glad we made them suffer like we could be tomorrow.

Carroll and Sakho on the bench, presumably Ayew up front.

Well a win is a win but it seems we still can't score goals.

Bizarre team selection, two teams utterly bereft of confidence, decent move for the goal, mostly devoid of any decent final ball, and an away team who were strangely reluctant to have a go until they were one nil down...
All very odd,but three points is three points .
Still not sure what I've really seen.

Yep, goal aside a terrible game but finally a win. Hopefully might go someway to building some confidence.

Basic errors and shocking delivery from pieces STILL need work though, can't believe its Apr and we're still blighted by same problems - couple of examples:

- Randolph boots ball straight into touch from goalkick
- Snod misses everybody from corner kick and balls goes into touch
- One-two from throw in, ball goes into touch

Some cost for the win as well: Hamstring for Antonio and Noble now suspended.

Some positives though: Byram and Collins were both excellent.

Finally benefit (a positive as we won) of not playing either AC or Sakho though is they have another week of rest/fitness before Sunderland next week.

Agree re swans, very odd. Their fans quiet all game as well. Manager laid into players on radio post-game.

With Hull looking better of late, despite their result today, Swansea should be worried indeed, their post manager change bounce has come to an abrupt end and they are in the mire IMO

Very much so. Surprised at his tone. Offered next to nothing against us (and we're crap).

The selection did look odd, presumably Carroll & Sakho are not 100% fit.

Looks like Antonio could be finished this season.

Still 3 very precious points.
