Employing him made every sense, no one else would take that shambles on with st money and a shot squad.
Hammer67, so we have one player who would get in a top six team but Moyes results gave us top 8 form? He conceded less goals than Bilic in the same amount of games ( with Bilic’s unfit unmotivated players) scored an extra goal every two games compared with Bilic (so much for those negative tactics), we were the second top scorers outside the top six overall.Regular big defeats ?...Only Avram bloody Grant had a worse goals conceded per game record than Bilic.
He dealt with discipline issues with Carroll, Antonio, said it how it was with fitness and effort levels, wasn’t afraid to call out the owners about leaks, and what the club needed going forward.
The last three results didn’t paper over anything, they showed what was possible when he didn’t have the inherent threat of relegation hanging over him.
And now according to reports it looks like he told them to stuff it,and it’s dawning on people when they take their I hate Moyes hat off what a bloody good job he did.
If this bloke had played 70 games for us before fking off to Everton for more money and had done what Moyes did we’d be calling him the messiah.
I don’t want next level football. We haven’t the money or the owners to do that, nor would a manager capable of doing that come on those terms.
I want stability, and not to be a laughing stock to all and sundry, just for fking once.Moyes would have given that.
We are an utter embarrassment.

But the board treated Moyes badly and not surprisingly he’s gone. We have to move on.

Moving on. Bad night for Payet which could ruin his World Cup - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/metro.co.uk/2018/05...
What a terrible shame.
I switched it on at around 30 odd mins to see the replays of Griezman scoring and Payet sitting looking woeful on the bench. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...and who said karma isn't real. What a terrible shame.

Yep.
The latest from Sky is we’re now back in for Benitez.
I accept that he’s a bigger name and has managed some of the biggest clubs, but is he renowned for expansive attacking football that apparently we must have because it’s “ our way”?
No he’s not.
I think technically and from an ability standpoint Benitez is a better manager than Moyes, but would he do better at what is rapidly turning into a bit of a toxic role i.e. managing West Ham with these owners promising much and delivering little? The latest from Sky is we’re now back in for Benitez.

Might be interesting to see what happens though, will Hernandez stay if Benitez comes along? I would imagine any incoming manager would meet all the players and have thoughts on whether he is keeping them or not.

Crazy in the stadium though w/ flares & fireworks. If it'd been an English side involved or a game in England we'd more calls for games behind closed doors, stadium bans & point deductions.

All our goals this season. Interesting watching them all back to back how many goals Chica got. We are very reliant on him and Arnautovic.
Lets hope Pickford doesnt carry his form from that last game into the WC!

One of my boys is a season ticket holder at The Emirates, a raving Gooner.
We send each other jokey texts about our teams.
I sent him one the other night, “Rumours on the Internet, that WHU are going for Laurent Blanc, former manager of France, and that Griezmann is mulling over signing too.”
He sent back, “I think you mean Matt Le Blanc.”

Anywhere between £7m and £10m per year for a two or three year contract, if reports are to be believed - just can’t see us spending that much money on a manager but If it comes off, I think I’ll be pleased.
Still think that the Daves will need to spend at least £60m in the summer and probably a fair bit more to get some strength in depth.
And they don’t exactly have good form for splashing the cash. Maybe they been saving up?!?

I agree Pincher but if reports are correct it seems odds-on that Pellegrini will be our next manager and if that's the case they will have to spend money on transfers. There's quite simply no point from a business perspective paying that much for a manager and not providing him the cash to buy the players. I'll wait and see with bated breath...
