Would you say that's taken from the West Stand looking across at the South Bank and the Chicken Run?
I thought you’d tell us Rich, weren’t you there? laugh

Yes, I think you’re probably right but UP changed a lot.

Well although I wasn't quite there I wouldn't say it changed that much. Instantly recognisable I'd say! hehe

I stumbled across this on Facebook.

West Ham v Leicester 2nd Sept 1939. The next day we declared war on Germany & the season was abandoned which was just as well as we lost the match 0-2.

Was our big summer signing out injured after breaking something in a pre season friendly?
Did we start brightly, miss several decent chances and concede to Leicesters first shot on goal in the 48th minute?
Were we booed off at half time?
Did we score 6 disallowed goals in the second half and then score an own goal in the 98th minute?
Did Alan Shearer slag us off on MOTD?

Etc etc etc

HOw did you guess? According to the 'official' ... The victories over Plymouth Argyle (3-1) at Home Park, Fulham (2-1) at the Boleyn Ground and a home defeat by Leicester City (0-2) were deleted from the record books.

The weather could be an issue tomorrow and perhaps a bit of a ‘leveller’.

We’ll need all the help we can get.

No, we don’t need help from the weather.
It’s Fortress OS, and the magnificent, loud hostile crowd will be right behind the team from the off....

And carry us through to a 4 nil defeat .

Cheers. Driving to Shenfield.

Filthy weather today - bloody soaking on the way to the ground.

Hopefully build on last week...

I’m on the Fen St line but thanks for the heads up. Think there are some trains running direct in to Stratford with any luck.

Just at my lads football - it’s absolutely pissing down here. Going to watch first half and then hot foot it to the station. Must be mad!!

Got to station, realised I had forgotten my Season Ticket, so had to go back home to get it.

Train to Stratford just been cancelled and the next one goes down the Tilbury Loop to West Ham and I doubt I’d be at the ground much before 2pm.

Going to go home and watch it on tv I think.

stty trains furious

Busy at Shenfield & shambles on the platforms but outside ground now.

Slighty less wet than Essex.

No Arnie, Antonio starts in his place.

I suspect that’s the one I was going to get.

I’m at home warming a nice quiche and just about to open a Moretti beer
