Thank goodness we got a result, my son went crazy when Arnie scored almost straight away, his hotdog ended up on his jacket lol he also got to see Felipe come on so boxes ticked there!
Nasri looked class, was really surprised, him and Arnie at one point were popping the ball off to each other running circles around Birmingham, if those two and Anderson can put some game time in together it looks a great acquisition.
Arnie was waving his arms about about being subbed, he was getting chances and didnt want to come off.
Obiang looked a bit slow, both fullbacks made their fair share of mistakes and never looked like stopping their man getting past them. Silva as above looked like he was just trying to get the pass count up, diangana played ok, could have done better beating his man a few times, on the right he always comes inside despite opportunity to make for the byline.
Rice was outstanding again, can only imagine how good he is going to be. Covered in defence, great tackles in the middle of the park and played some great balls through the middle to get the forwards away, looking the complete player really.
Carroll, dreadful, fell over three times rolling around, provided pretty much no outlet from defence on the break, lost the ball frequently then of course pops up with the goal. That said he did head a Birmingham effort off the line in the first half.
Overall a decent enough game, was quiet in the ground but suspect its due to infrequent supporters such as myself. Alfie my son loved it and is still going on about it hours later...hopefully that puts to bed any ideas of supporting Chelsea!

Chelsea!!! You really do need to put that to bed.
We live in Richmond just down the road - so as you can imagine Chelsea get a fair bit of mention around here! Fortunately he now hero worships Arnie and Anderson!
Have to say Nasri was really good today, if he can do that each week and build up his sharpness and fitness we might have gotten ourselves a steal there.

Other than a “ decent enough game” that’s a pretty good summing up. ( I thought it was a crap game!)Nasri looked class, was really surprised, him and Arnie at one point were popping the ball off to each other running circles around Birmingham, if those two and Anderson can put some game time in together it looks a great acquisition.

Odd reaction from AC after his goal - wonder if it was a sense of relief after being laughed at for 70-odd minutes or whether he knew it might be the last goal he is likely to score for us, before leaving before the end of the transfer window?
He looked very short of confidence and (understandably) off the pace. Almost looks as if he is reluctant to throw himself into some of the challenges he has done previously, in case he gets injured. Psychological?
He just doesn’t suit our style of football any more, so I wouldn’t be too disappointed if he was moved on. The only problem is that Perez isn’t a good enough backup for Arnie, so we’d have to dip into the market again.
Thought Diangana looked good today - still needs to beef up a bit but I’m sure that will come with time. Was also quite impressed with young Silva - definite potential there.
Nasri still got it - think he will be good for us when he gets a bit fitter.

It was embarrassing watching Carroll, where we try to play fast football his lack of pace is shown up quite badly. A few times crosses went in and he wasn't even close to getting on the end of it. In one instance we attacked down the right in the second half, put a decent cross in and their defence cleared it about 10 yards outside their own box to be picked up by Carroll, he was so slow keeping up with the attack he hadn't even made it into the box. It just appeared the game was just played around him...I think the puffed out cheeks was because moments before when one on one with the keeper he made a hash of it more than anything and ran the ball out of play...He looked very short of confidence and (understandably) off the pace. Almost looks as if he is reluctant to throw himself into some of the challenges he has done previously, in case he gets injured. Psychological?

Anyone notice the U-23s win against Man City? 5-1 I think it was, but apparently there is some 15 year old winger/striker playing, he scored in that game and in his only other previous U-23 game. Amado Diallo he is called, playing against players potentially 8 years older than him!
Just watched the highlights clip that's on the website - very impressive, WH's third goal in particular was great. Unusual scoreline v Cittee regardless of level.
That City reserve stadium is quite something.
