<clip> Fair play to Pellers, from what looked like a couple of questionable subs he somehow got it bang on with them, never panics
And that's why he's the best manager we've had for a long while. I cannot imagine a previous West Ham team coming back from 3:1 down at home... Agree on point though but shouldn't have got ourselves in the situation to begin with.
Abysmal performance, casually sauntering about & flicking the ball as if on the beach. tts.

One of the worst games of football I’ve seen.
We didn’t deserve to win because of our attitude, Huddersfield did nothing to deserve a win either, time wasting from 65 minutes.
You won’t see us concede three worse goals in three different bad ways.
I should be elated at that comeback, instead I’m still embarrassed by what I’ve seen from both teams.

Hopefully I don’t come across as too sycophantic sjc but I’ve just read your post out to my missus because it is bang on with what I’d been telling her. It’s such a strange feeling: hugely grateful to come away with a win but not happy that the absolute ste performance that will in all likelihood be papered over due to the result. The fact that it was Kids for a Quid added to the surreal feeling (and to the piss poor atmosphere). We didn’t deserve to win because of our attitude, Huddersfield did nothing to deserve a win either, time wasting from 65 minutes.

The only thing I would add is that I couldnt understand the subs: Anderson had a shocker - until his assist for the winner and Perez was anonymous. Having said that, it worked out in the end (probably only because Huddersfield are so poor) and we probably don’t deserve the class act that is Pellegrini. Oh and Lanzini was also pretty anonymous too.

I'd cut Lanzini slack until next season, he's coming back from a very serious injury and it is not easy to get back into the full swing of things.
Sorry I should have said that many WHU players were poor today: for instance Rice’s performance was way below the level we’ve come to expect...but he’s young and I’m sure absolute consistency will follow with more experience. I think this was possibly the 2nd or 3rd time I’d seen Lanzini play since he came back. The first time he came on in the 60th or so minute and his class shone through immediately. I didn’t see that today but I’m more than happy to give him the benefit of doubt. All that said, I’m absolutely useless at assessing the oppositions performance and for all I know they may well have kept him/others quiet (but I don’t think so).

Agree with your thoughts on the subs( I mentioned above that they were questionable, I assume Ant must have had a knock as at least he was trying to make things happen, and as you say,I’d bet Perez didn’t touch the ball more than half a dozen times).
Anderson needs to learn when to just play a straight pass rather than bending it, dinking it or losing it. Bizarrely, he was very good defensively today !
Nasri needs to start, the bloke is class, calm on the ball, doesn’t complicate it but still influences games .

've not seen it and will watch MOTD however, from another forum I chat on where most of the posters are season holders it was said.... " the sheer quality of Anderson, Lanzini and Nasri together made all the difference in the final half hour."
Once again apologies for not making myself clear. When I criticised Anderson it was meant to be in the context of the subs. At half-time I’d said that Pellers should sub Anderson (who had been inconsistent up to that point) and bring on Chic to aid Arnie. We were all surprised that it was Ant to make way - but perhaps he had a knock?
In my defence (and Anderson’s) I did say to my daughter on the way home that one thing in Anderson’s favour is that he keeps going despite the clear frustration demonstrated by the crowd at some of his decision making etc. I agree that he did prove to be the difference in the end with his assist for the last goal - so thank god I don’t manage West Ham!😀
I’d agree with sjc in that Nasri WAS class with his calm clear determination. I’m afraid I didn’t see that from Lanzini but perhaps I was expecting so much more? If we can get Anderson, Arnie, Nasri and Lanzini playing together at or near their best then I’ll be a very happy man.
I suspect that MoTD will concentrate on the goals/WestHam’s gaffes (given their hatred of all things WHU) and you will not get a real flavour of the game. As sjc has said “it was pretty toxic” at one point. Perhaps the BBC will rub it in and show the exodus of “support” at 65 minutes when Huddersfield scored their 3rd.
Fans coming in for some criticism from the media for leaving after 75 mins...and surprisingly Tony Gale doing and interview and saying WHU and Pelle in particular have under-achieved this season. Given the insane injuries to still be within spitting distance of 7th is not bad I think, and clearly Pelle is the best manager we have had in a long time.
