Sooner the better, although we've a decent run of five games coming that we should be perfectly capable of getting results from.
I've also just noticed that this season we play palace twice before we play Leicester once (home game v. L'pool's also dropped off the fixture list, presumably to be re-arranged so that might also happen vs. scousers). Strange, can't think of many times that that's happened (if at all?).

Isn’t it just.
Going to be a long long way back.
Yes they seem a long way off being a decent side again, the problem is the constant reshaping of the team they are not building towards anything. They have bought more expensive players than Man City but there has been no plan to it just scatter gunning whichever player looks like they might be on the market. Going to be a long long way back.
Anyway, talking of teams much further up the division such as West Ham...
...rumours are that there will be no arrivals in January. I know its a fair way off but I cannot imagine Haller going the whole season without a knock of some description, same for Yarmo for instance. Antonio although slated for a return in Jan will take a month or so to get back up to speed. Fornals so far looks like we have been sold a bit of a dud, looked great in the Spain youth games but struggling to adapt? With the division wide open this year, I think we would be foolish to not look for one or two reinforcements to make that top 6 challenge sustainable.

2015/16 again if that's the case; which will be disappointing. ...rumours are that there will be no arrivals in January. Even last season, we could have won a couple of games at the end of the season and hit 6/7 in the division but ran out of steam/players.We keep hearing from the board that European football is the 'project' but they don't seem willing to accept that requires sustained investment in players that is more than just net spend of £20m per season.

Football supporters saying their board should spend more on improving the squad. Where have I heard that before? I think its more about aligning their expectations of their project i.e. European competition with what is actually being reinvested into the playing staff. Net £20m spend per season will not achieve that consistently, and we have some glaring weaknesses in the squad (look at the panic around Fabianski). If everyone is fit and firing we have a very good first team, but the depth in terms of quality isn't there.coldel said:
