Great effort last night. You can knock Noble as much as you like but I think he’s been rejuvenated with Rice and Soucek next to him. I think he’s still got another season in him as super sub.
Also reckon we should offer Rice the captaincy and use it as a carrot for him to give us one more year, but I have a horrible feeling he might already be resigned to leaving at the end of this season

Assuming we're a PL team next season Rice won't be going anywhere IMO.
Don't see any need to change status either - Nobes will presumably feature less on the pitch next season anyway & DR generally seems to step-up, plus he's still v.young.
Also taking the Captaincy (sp) away from Nobes isn't fair, especially after hitting 500 games yesterday.
Just re-watched the goals on YouTube - Rice's strike was a belter & Antonio now leading scorer since re-start.

We can only hope!
The way Antonio has developed is astonishing. I played against him years ago when he played for Tooting & Mitcham and he was "ok" but nothing stand out, although at the time they had some properly good players for the level. He seems to bleed claret and blue, must be one of the biggest players in the league when it comes to effort, properly proud to have him play for us.

That brings us to the manager.
My natural instinct is very much Moyes out, although it`s clear that won`t happen now, and rightfully so.
He`s delivered, just, what he was tasked with.
Plus it`s pretty clear the job, whilst not exactly a poisoned chalice, is very very hard to nail down for any length of time.
I thought the appointment of Pelegrini was, finally, the sort of appointment that would move us away from relegation scraps and into the upper reaches of the table. How wrong can you be?

I just dont see Moyes taking is forward though, I reckon 12 months down the line we will be saying the same thing.
Agree. He's not for me (made my view on him clear enough in the past ), however the owners won't spend (compensation) on a new manager so unless there's a viable free agent, or someone walks away (Dyche?) from their club/contract they will stick w/ DM and keep him on a short deal with tight leash on signings - to be fair his last two picks (assuming he chose them) have been superb. DM could of course call their bluff & walk away, but doubt he has anything lined up to enable him to do that confidently
In my opinion it would be disgraceful if Moyes were asked o make way for a "big name" manager. I want to see us playing in the top half of the division as much as anyone but I would hate to be a club that sacked the manager that saved them - twice! Frankly, unless you have a Russian or Arabic owners a "big name" manager is a waste of time because, as we found out, unless they can spend £200 million every summer they can't actually do any more than Moyes.

Couldn’t agree more. We should have stuck with Moyes last time round and definitely need to keep him now.The manager situation won’t change with GSB. Moyes has hardly set the world alight but he’s done what he had.
The anti-board protests were just picking up pace when Covid hit, couldn’t have come at a better time for GSB. I think it’s next year that they can sell the club without any penalties, so stick with Moyes until then and see if anyone is interested in West Ham PLC. Seems to be a lot of investors waiting in the wings.
