Bit of a pisser that one but they did get the ball in the net 3 times... Let's be honest, to go to Liverpool and be disappointed at not getting a draw is an indication of the significant improvements we've made in the last 6 months. Onwards and upwards chaps... COYI

p.s. am I being fair when I say Haller did the square root of naff all?

Same as last season there then wink

I didn't watch it but commentators on radio weren't impressed w/ Haller - appears we've simply added to WH's long list of st strikers. Pity as he looked decent @ beginning last season.

To choose to not add another striker in the window was fking stupid.

What a lazy useless waste of space, Haller is. Yarma had more touches in his first 5 minutes.

Yet on another Hammers forum I comment on someone said, he didn't get the service. I used to play centre forward and sometimes you'd get the service, some games you'd have to go hunting for the ball. I really don't want to get on a players back but he looked totally disinterested. Get rid a.s.a.p. would be my assessment.

You played well today, got the goal and then defended very well and we struggled to break you down. You’ll
do alright if you keep that level up.

(Haller was crap)

I am sure someone will be along to call me a bad loser, but I have been checking the offside rule about ‘interfering with play’ and I am puzzled why that second goal stood.

The rule is that blocking an opponent’s line of vision is interfering with play and I am sure that Mane was between the goalscorer and Fabianski, who must have been unsighted. Mane damn well knew it too, because he was just strolling back on side, and when he realised what was going on, pinned his arms to his sides, trying to make himself look like he wasn’t really there.

Salah’s penalty? Well we all know what that was all about, don’t we? I suppose that’s the way the game is played, but the feeble contact that was made by no means brought him down. It was a dive.

I’d love to know what all the laughing and joking was about between Salah and the ref as they walked out for the second half.

Grumpy mode off now. smile

Salah made a meal out of it of course, but there was a clear kick to the back of his heel, let’s not pretend that Lanzini or any other forward wouldn’t go down like a sack of spuds in the penalty area.

Blame the game not the player, if players do the honourable thing and stay up they don’t get the free kick. (I don’t like it either).

There again I didn’t see why the first goal was denied. I just saw two players sliding in to challenge for a loose ball and the defender do very well to scoop it away, no foul either way.

It was a definite penalty. I was annoyed that he did it, he will have got a bking for being so stupid - we can’t say it cost us the game but it was such a naive challenge to make. Really pissed me off last night when it happened laugh

I saw it at the pub last night and have a hazy memory due to carrying on drinking at a mates after, but I am fairly sure Mane clattered in to our defender who then went into our keeper - looked like a foul to me.

Sarah made a meal of a very light touch but as previously stated that’s what forwards do. Liverpool’s second goal could have been given offside but all in all I reckon they deserved the win.

Wow you must have been a few in smile

Have another look, they both slide in side by side, it looks like Mane clatters into keeper (which shouldn’t be a foul as he was diving in to smother it, so takes the risk) h by it actually has outstretched leg goes under Fab.

I still can’t quite see the foul but hey ho, relieved to get the result and Phillips did well to fill a big VVD gap

Nope, just watched it again and Mane definitely fouls.
