Also, please can we not do Rashford on set pieces any more. Have any of them ever come to anything? When Sigurdsson was stood over theirs you knew what was coming. When Marcus was stood over ours you knew the same. Surely Blind or Young or someone has a better delivery?

At least Mata is back for Thursday, and it didn't look to Dr Bstb3 that Bailly knock was too bad so he may be available. Not sure on Pogba being fit but to coin a Redknapp-ism we are down to the bare bones, Jeff.

Thought Darmian looked ok when he came on, which was something.

Yes, I concur although Dr Ford doesn't have the latest Virgin Media 4k Xray tv working atm. As you say, Darmian did quite well so that's a plus but it did look like Blind took a knock.

Still unbeaten though, so still something to celebrate.

Mourinho: "I don't know about the injuries. I think Luke Shaw's must be a big injury, because to leave the pitch after 10 minutes I am expecting a very big injury."

To me, when he went down and the other players went up to him I did think they had a look on their face a bit like "are you sure?" they didn't seem convinced. I know he can't be in a good place, but if he has gone off without much to show for it then RIP his OT career.

JM also went on about the tiredness and things, which is of course true but will be painted as an excuse (which it also is) - but you can't deny that having to play 9 games in April has been bad for us. It's the price of being in so many competitions, but still it's hard when you have players getting so many injuries. I wonder if the Physio department will be getting a work over soon.

I think you can say that for any PL team who qualifies unless there is big changes to their squads in the summer even Chelsea and Spurs look flakey to me. Far cry from two English teams competing in the final ten years ago.

Lucky to get a point at end .

No team could have this many games and injuries to contend with and not struggle ,how many teams have got to a semi or final in this cup we are in and made top 4 ? Can't think of any .
Big squad but too many players not good enough ,as our friends seem keen to remind us ...how much squad cost ,we know we have bought badly and often paid far too much .Tell us something we don't know .
I cringe when I see fellaini or Rooney on pitch ,they try but fellaini can't see beyond a 2m pass and Rooney is so gone I genuinely think he would struggle in a championship side.

Oh FFS, not Bailly now too. This is beyond a joke.
Phew , he went 61 minutes for the clean sheet & 6 big points on the fantasy .

Another turgid Jose showing.

At least everyone's happy with it in here .
If only you stayed in any cup competitions long enough to play 3 games a week ,you might know how tough that is .

We made a mistake selling in Jan and not buying. We've only got 14 fit players to choose from, put that with all the minutes under the players belt it makes a difference.

Is it a coincidence or the training methods?

In all fairness you really should be able to cope, it's not often you venture out of you're own half is it.

has any team played in the europa league to semi final stage or later and made top 4 ? Struggling to think of any ,which shows how tough it is to do.

edit : checked and only chelsea managed that in the last 15 years ,no one else.

You'd almost think United is a club that never won anything.

You never hear Barca, Real and Bayern coaches complain they have to play so many matches and are tired because of it.

Gose won the triple with Inter (with Real and Chelsea?), you wonder if he forgot what it's like being a coach of a club which is playing for silverware.

It certainly looks to be the case. Schneiderlin and Schweini certainly would have made a difference in fresh legs now. It's easy to say with hindsight of course, but it wasn't great decision making.

Their leagues accommodate their European fixtures though don't they ,a reason English teams suck in Europe at the moment .
You won't see any Of them playing a league game 2 days later. Its an issue that affects all our top clubs ,particularly those who get through to the later stages of competitions ,their form suffers.

Its a valid point - you are actually better off from a league perspective missing out on Europe at all than being in the Europa. Just look at Liverpool and Chelsea this season, they look plenty fresh now as a result.

We knew we were in for it though, and the squad should have been assembled to cope with it - which it is. Of course there is no way you can accommodate having so many injuries in specific areas, in that we have been unfortunate. Ironic that our only area relatively injury free, the attack, has been our worst so far this season and so rotating there doesn't help much.

JM said it after the game, you have to look at context. Unless you just want to bash for the sake of it, or to try and prove some prejudice. At least City only drew and Arsenal lost, so it could have been worse.
