So in one season Jose wins the same number of trophies that Spurs have in the last 20 years and Liverpool have managed in the last 11 years.
Been the first united manager to win a trophy in his first season.
First united manager to win the europa/UEFA cup
But he's st and lost it apparently .

Well chuffed, an average squad in the midst of rebuilding delivers numerous trophies. Charity Shield (doesn't count but did anyone else win it?), Rumbelows / Milk / Littlewoods etc Cup well the Scousers claim it, Europa League (not the one that matters).

As much as I've slagged off our team and trophies, we won them. We are United

United.
Rebuilding !

That squad last night cost £386M to assemble ,

Well done all the same.
Jose inherited a pretty poor squad ,cost is irrelevant because we had bought badly, overpaid for good players and bought some dross .
So with a st squad he spent £120m and won 2 trophies and qualified for the champs league.
Guardiola who all the abus told us is much better ,inherited a team that got to the semi final of the champs league and probably the best squad in the league, spent £170m and won what ?

Unsurprisingly, the result last night gives me no pleasure but if it does anything to harden the resolve of/bring a little joy to Manchester then it was a good thing.

Spurs would have won the Europa if they had been in it. Oh, hold on...

Strangely since those awful deaths the other night I found myself sat with my Manchester mates actually wanting you guys to win as a massive fk you to those pricks...im not reality it didn't effect my team so I was glad you did..

Last year I went in my travels in the Europa away at your place , off to dortmund and away to the final people can mock the comp but by God I enjoyed every minute of it even the final that we lost ... u got what Jose set out to do so cant mock it, only thing I'd say is last year by God did we have it more difficult than u boys this year (can't be all positive can I lol?

Well done and to those that went enjoy your day chilling with the boys in Stockholm and get home safe

There is a video doing the rounds of the players singing the "city can fk off home" song.

If that's real then it's pretty shoddy, to say the least.

Congratulations - its ended up a good season for you in the end, I would argue 2nd best in the league (in terms of cups and qualifications) after Chelsea.

As a neutral I wanted Ajax to score first so Utd had to make a game of it. unfortunately Ajax didn't turn up and were completely ineffectual. Some credit must go to Utd (and therefore JM) for being defensively organised and disciplined, but the press putting it down to JM tactical genius is laughable IMHO as the opposition made it so easy for you.

Still you can only beat what is put in front of you, and you did that comfortably, so well done

Oh I see. It was deliberate. I get it now. Spurs don't like trophies.

Nope, all about priorities. Which was to qualify for the CL. If United had been top four since 1/1/17, then they wouldn't have won the EL either. The reality was that they hadn't been in the top four since they lost at home to City on 1/9/16. If you can only manage to finish 24 points off the top, it's no wonder you prioritise the EL - it's the only chance you have to secure CL.

Needs must and all that...

Desperate stuff. The bitterness is palpable. We won a trophy and got CL football. You failed to win a trophy and got CL football.

I would prefer to finish 2nd that win the EL, but that is because I have grown up used to winning much bigger trophies. Spurs never win a damn thing. In that context, choosing to fail to win the PL over winning the EL is cringe worthy.

Is Mourinho now suddenly hailed for playing long balls and parking the bus against a team of youngsters. Last week many United fans said he should be sacked.

By the way Felliani was Uniteds best player yesterday, Moyes should be thanked.

Isn't that why Pep has already said that he would have been sacked at any other big club? He himself recognises it's been a poor season.

Didn't see much parking of the bus so to speak. Looked quite open. But When Leicester, Chelsea etc set themselves up they don't get accused of parking the bus, apparently it's counter attacking football.

Ajax were woeful, a lot of mis placed passes and no width.

I think I must have watched a different game from everyone else.

I saw a Utd team that created 2 very easy chances other than the two it scored and so should have won 3-0 or even 4-0. I saw an exciting young Ajax side create literally nothing all game.

It was an extremely comfortable cup final win. You don't get many of those.

I'd say Herrera was MOTM.
