Nope. Utd have been dreadful for long periods without anyone leaving. A bigger club that pays lots more money and can be trusted to win things with a bit of patience.

Rumours maybe but nothing comes of them unless you are a side on a downward trajectory (Arsenal and Spurs, for example).

A lot of sense. I've been saying for a while that there is no value at £30-40m. Lots of average players going for that kind of money. Vastly more bonkers than paying £80m for someone world class.

Re: this current spending madness by the top clubs, i think is largely borne out by the 2nd season syndrome as I like to call it. New manager at new club (Conte, Guardiola, Mourinho) all with real aspirations to win the title either see that they have to spend big to catch up (G, M) or spend big to maintain position and challenge on more fronts (C). 1st season you have to take the existing squad and maybe add one or two or more faces, lose a few, see how you get on, strategise and identify targets and then make a real impact into the market.

If all 3 of the big spenders have some success this season they may well not spend quite so much next season to help redress the overspend balance a little. My 2p.
