biggrin Mourinho: '“It’s easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. If they need a manager, they have a chance, but Marouane? Forget it."

Would kind of miss the big lump, to be fair. There's something strangely comforting about seeing him lolloping around the pitch, all elbows and hair. Plus he's kind of a lightning rod for the red cards - if he keeps attention away from Herrera in that respect that's a plus too.

Yes he's limited, and makes the occasional whoops, but he seems really popular at the club and it's always good to have a plan c. Obviously with Matic coming in he will get less time, but in the cup competitions and as a battering ram when needed I can't see a problem with him staying if he's happy to accept that type of role.

I hear you. I'd miss the big lump too I think. As a footie player he's limited but he has a certain something about him. scratchchin

From what i have seen, Mitchell looks fantastic, would be more than happy to have him as our LB full time

Good addition Matic. Just 29 so should be able to slot straight into the squad despite missing most of pre season.

Quite liking chilled out Jose. Seems to be a real togetherness in the camp.

A flying out and out winger and the squads sorted. If that doesn't happen we've got options with Lingard, Rashford and Martial

Some food for thought ,since fergy retired there has been 9 transfer windows ,and in non of those have united signed an orthodox winger.
And in that time Giggs retired and Valencia went from a winger to right back.

£40M Plus is an awful lot of money to spend on a 29 year old footballer .

He's decent enough but blimey !

In todays crazy market probably seems on par. He is from a rival club, lots of prem experience, won titles already and is a player we need.

£40m doesn't seem that expensive.

If it means getting the best out of Pogba by letting him play more advanced, money well spent.

With the likes of Walker going for 50 and the usual United tax with added title rival super tax I'm happy. Knows what it takes to win the league and as stated above is there to free up Pogba. He's like bits of Carrick, Herrera and Fellini in one package. Gives Jose good options in midfield.

Now that winger...,

So what if he is 28? What does that matter? We are not looking at buying him to sell on or have a value at the end of his contract.

Hold the front page

"Spud in shock at a team spending money in transfer market"

In an astonishing outburst a Spurs fan today erupted in anger at other teams using the ridiculous TV deal money to better their team. Spurs however remain in pole position to win the "We've got the biggest bank balance trophy"
