Yeah, we were lucky there and certainly not 4 goals better on performance. I was surprised Gana was taken off, I thought he was doing really well for them in midfield and that seemed to me to be the turning point. We missed Pogba big time in there today, would have preferred to see Herrera come on 20 minutes sooner the way the game was going.

Weird isn't it? I don't see the performances so far this season as being much better really, but the results certainly are! It's just been that slight change in personnel, an increase in confidence and more clinical finishing that's made the difference.
franki68 said:
Flattering score line ,lots of chances but more due to poor defending than good play.
But playing bad and winning ..that's the difference between challenging for titles and not.
Alpinestars said:
Flattering. Could have gone either way before that mistake by them. Strong finish though.
bstb3 said:
Well, that was about as uninspiring as a 3-0 win can be. I blame the rain, which is a tad worrying. Zero atmosphere it seemed like, but job done.

Seems like subs do the business for us now, so next game make all 3 by 20 mins and we'll win 6 - nowt.
Alpinestars said:
Less bad. Also not good enough for a team that wants to win stuff. This is as bad as I've seen us over the last few years. That's saying something.
Gavia said:
It's Stoke away, many teams will struggle here, so a good test. We're failing it though at the moment.
ORD said:
Hard to see many positives. We didn't lose, but we were absolutely dreadful.
Alpinestars said:
The positives are;

A) the game has ended,
B) the Scouse score.

What a pile of utter ste. I cannot understand those stupid f corners. Used to piss me off no end when we did that under LVG.

Very, very poor, lazy performance. Stoke did well in the second half and deserved to win it.
franki68 said:
We weren't great but stoke played very well.
57Ford said:
For all the less than dazzling play by our full-backs, how ste has Mhiki got to be before he gets the hook? He's lost the ball every single time it's come to him! His stats so far today must easily be the worst of any United player this season.
We need a goal early doors in the second half to draw them out a bit and give us space to play.
ORD said:
Almost everyone has been poor. Lukaku has looked like a drunken Peter Crouch at times - no idea where his feet are or what to do with them. Pogba has barely done a thing.

Dross performance so far. Classic post-international break game, maybe.
im bored now but thats just going back a few games and none are from WUMS, ABUS or whatever you want to call them.
You need to get out more.

I didn't say we were boring, I didn't say we were poor. I just said we were struggling to beat a team that many others will too.

I was disappointed with the way the match was going, that's all. I love the Spuds interpretation of things. If things are going well for United, make up a story.

Spuds have nothing better to do. Certainly not supporting their team by turning up - Wembley was 3/4 empty last night.

hehe Good work.
Really?

Most quotes are from one game (Stoke away) and we played badly that game so I'd expect those kinds of posts. They don't really support the original point.

Christ you lot really don't do discussion do you. literally every conversation with an outsider turns into an argument laugh.

I haven't made anything up or doctored any of those quotes, from what ive seen the performances have been pretty meh, although the results have been fantastic, as many of you have actually said wobble

You could just ask if we find the football under Mourinho to be dull? smile

I guess thats the point really, looking at the comments during the game it would appear no, reading the comments after and it would appear ive just been watching Brazil without realising.

What do we want to see tonight?

Personally hoping to see Shaw start and impress. Herrera to get 90 mins, maybe Carrick to get a run out although feel Fellaini has earned a start as well (never thought I'd type that)

Rash up top? Or Martial?

I'm slightly in love with Martial so I'd love to see him up top (that sounds dodgy), but I wouldn't mind if it was Rashford.

18 goals minimum.

Is like to see Mata at number 10, with martial up front. Or Jesse and Rash - I think they have a great understanding of each others'' game.

Well you are all in luck, Jesse, Mata, Martial and Rashford all starting. There's some mad pace there (and Mata). Was hoping Shaw would start, but at least he is on the bench. Will be interesting to see how Lindelof copes on set pieces - I'm guessing that will be their focus (stereotypical I know, but what else can they do)?

Surely it's come to something when not only do the Prem team make nine changes (as to be expected) but the minnow visitors do as well!

So all these guys who may never get to step onto the OT grass again are denied so they can rest ... this would have been the pinnacle of some careers years ago, a bit of a run in a Cup and playing at a big club ... albeit against them ... the relegation dogfight in the the Championship is more important, obviously!

How times have changed.
