Its no great surprise you cant see the double standards.
No double standards. Look up the thread, none of us are claiming that finishing runners up will be a success, it’s progress, but only if we kick on the following year. You lot, however, believe that the”Almost applying pressure whilst retaining the biggest bank balance” trophy is the pinnacle of success. I like that you only pick my posts out to quote though. It’s nice to feel wanted.
Or is just him and you being arrogant?

League position means bugger all though apparently, 2nd is just 1st of the losers, you chaps taught us that
It is. Winning the title is what matters, nobody has said otherwise and we can but dream. Thankfully, we seem to have progressed this season, so progress is being made. Im not sure all your dogs are barking so will duck out now.

That was my first post on here today which you quoted, i ignored and replied to GTO which you then quoted again, before getting all fighty which i finally responded to.

But you chose to quote my posts most recently. Go on admit it, you think you’re being clever and getting under my skin don’t you with all the sly digs?Im not sure all your dogs are barking so will duck out now.
If only we could hold you to the bit in bold permanently, this would be a much happier place for all of us.

Well of course, second is our highest prem league finish ever course we were happy you lemon
No double standards here then, Spurs have their best PL season ever finishing 2nd = 1st loser bottlers, the most successful team in England finish second = big improvement, winning mentality
you couldn't make this stuff up. I guess thats the difference between United and Spurs fans, a sense of reality..
WUMmy WUMer can’t see the point being made, because he’s too busy WUMing. Big shock there. No double standards here then, Spurs have their best PL season ever finishing 2nd = 1st loser bottlers, the most successful team in England finish second = big improvement, winning mentality

You should’ve won it in 2015, but completely bottled it and ended up finishing third in a two horse race. Last year, you choked again when it mattered, but managed to at least hold on to 2nd. You’re not progressing this year and if you’re not moving forward, then............
Also you're talking about 2nd not being a good thing unless you kick on from it. The last 4 seasons Tottenham have improved from 6th-5th-3rd-2nd. It certainly seems like they are improving. Whereas you have gone from 7th-4th-5th-6th. How is that improving and moving forward? Particularly when compared to Spurs?

Spot on sir, No doubt some on here will go back to being City fans when they start winning those Shiny silver things.
Hahahahahaha, have a look at your post from a few days ago. I think it might be you, who switches teams for fun. Black can man said:
Looks like we are saving our first team for the likes of Dortmund & Madrid.
Were all just playing for 2nd 3rd & 4th aren't we , City look just too good . I hope they go on to win the league as they are great to watch & it
would be much better for a flair team to lift the title than basically a West Brom with money.

Did you lot not choke basically from the start of the season last year? I'd say the start of the season is just as important as any other stage - points are the same and it's the end result that counts. Yet it is the spuds that bottled it? If anyone it could be us (Liverpool) as January was a disaster for us.

We were crap after the first 3 games. It’s when it gets to squeaky bum time that teams choke and that’s not in August, or even January. You might have noticed that we’ve all said that we’re progressing this season. The key word there is this, not last season, nor the season before and not the season before that either, it’s progression this season.
You may find that you and the Spuds aren’t really progressing this season.
Let me repeat that for you again. It’s progression this season.

I'd say it's a bit early to comment on improving. Last season we'd have "improved" loads if you looked at the table around December, yet at the end of the season it was a different picture. Spurs are in the same number of points as last season, and they have done much better in the CL despite it being a much harder group (harder than any of the other PL clubs). Also surely improvement is the long term trend, since you were all mentioning 2nd is only good if you improve on it later. That's what Spurs have done each season in the last 4. It's not what you have done recently in a consistent way. The same with us.
