Suspect he will probably go this time. We need to strengthen - he still wants to play 1st team footy no doubt.

Chelsea's 26th minute stunt was contrived st and should be met with a sanction for both sides.
Yep +1.

I thought it cringworthy and should not have been allowed during playing time. Why didn't the ref book them all for time-wasting! laugh

I can understand Chelsea's desire to mark the retirement of their main man, like us with Gerrard, but to ask Sunderland to conspire half way through a live match is just bizarre.

If I'd been Terry in that situation I'd have refused it, been professional to the end then celebrated. But then I wouldn't have brought my kit along to wear for the celebrations for a game I didn't take part in either.

I think it's just another example of how high JT's opinion of himself appears to be! (where's the wker smilie when you need one? biggrin)
Ooops.

BBC article says:

Another successful gambler, who staked £10, anonymously told the Press Association: "I only put money on this because I thought this is surely going to come in.

"I don't normally bet. It's only the second time I've ever placed a bet.

"I was surprised the odds were that high." said John Terry's dad, whilst dealing cocaine in a local pub

Agree what was said about Clyne... Definitely not good enough.

As well as the marquee signings, squad players will be required....

I give you.....

Surprised by Wijnaldum's stats. I thought he'd been poor this season. Still if he can get that return he can hopefully get better in his second season.

I think Coutinho is a given now in our midfield 3. He will be the superstar midfielder in that trio. The other positions will be various combinations of Wijnaldum or Lallana and Can or Henderson. Also add Milner in there and the midfield becomes crowded. There's a lot of bodies there, not sure there is enough quality, particularly for the steel position that I suppose will be filled by Can or Henderson.

I agree on Clyne by the way. He's been crap all season. I'm just hoping that if we buy a decent left back we can free up Milner to compete at right back as well as give Arnold some games.

It's the striker and wide forward position that's a priority for me. Our front 3 will probably always have two of Mane, Firmino and Lallana playing. Give me a world class striker and someone that can add depth to Mane.

Klopp seemed to hint that the players had all been identified. Looking forward to seeing what happens. We have the manager, we're in the qualification for the Champions League and we must have a war chest after successive windows with a positive net spend.

Defoe is too old, he wouldn't be up to Klopps style of play.

Great footballer in his day, but I wouldn't want to see him for Liverpool.

And he played for them'uns.

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has bought 11-year-old Limerick native Paddy Mackessy a pair of £300 (€347) Adidas PureControl football boots in the Liverpool City Adidas store on Monday.

Iker Casillas? Some reports suggest he has already signed a pre-contract agreement...

Could be a quality back-up for Mings. Not to mention, would be a great mentor to help to take Mings to the next level. Give Karius 1st team experience elsewhere and come back when he hopefully gets some much needed experience under his belt. If the reports are true, could be a good move.

No chance. Mings and Karius are our 1 and 2, I can't see Klopp choosing otherwise.

If Karius is our number 2 next season, based solely on his performances we have seen this season, this will be a huge weakness even if we strengthen in other areas. If Mings gets injured, we cannot have a shaky, nervous replacement stepping in next season.

And you don't think Karius can/will improve in the same way Mings has?

I think he can improve but not by sitting on the bench. He needs to get out there and be playing regular first team football. But not with us - I think he needs a full season in the PL with another team and then re-assess afterwards. Right now, we need quality and experience even more so with CL football. Right now, Karius is a big risk.

Why not? MIGS improved from the training he was getting when NOT IN the team - he didnt just suddenly come in a new keeper , they were working massively with him on what he was weak at, the biggest thing his decision making and coming out for corners/free kicks

Nothing beats playing and the experience you get from that. I think given Karius's age, he needs to be playing regularly. There is a good chance that next season, he will be just sat on the bench for the vast majority of the season bar a few cup run outs. Training is one thing, playing is another.

But if you take that attitude with all young players they'll never get experience with our first team. I'd say keeping Karius at LFC next season and using him in the cups is exactly the sort of experience and game time he needs.

I'd much rather have him, hungry for game time and experience, sat on the bench on a relatively low wage, than Casillas whom I imagine will cost a pretty penny in wages?

If we're bringing in Casillas then sell Mings, but I think this is all paper BS anyway.

Right so how many appearances has Migs got for us in the 1st team - what was his weakness, crosses and decision making , we take him out the team then there is massive importance put on working on those areas with him in training, he comes back in and suddenly he has improved massively - was that from being in the 1st team or was that from being dropped and extra work being put in with him where he was weak ?
