Good deal for Stewart - must have been quite last minute as he'd gone to HK with the touring party. Very strange.
First game, against Palace, is on at 1.30 this afternoon. Live on Sky, for those who have it (and aren't in powerfully built company director board meetings, obviously). I might watch it, see how the players are shaping up (in between searching for R129 Mercs online).

Looks like it will only happen if he puts in a transfer request now.
I agree. A few quotes on twitter that his agent has just arrived in Hong Kong to discuss the potential move. Will be interesting how this plays out and whether Keita now tries to force the move through. I personally can't see us going any higher than €70m, especially given that he has a €48m release clause next summer. Doesn't make any financial sense IMO.type-r said:

The release clause rumour was quashed by them the other week ... Also we will then be up against Madrid/Bayern according to German reporters, if we can get him (looking unlikely unless he starts to try force it) we need to get him this summer

70m is just bonkers for a player unproven in the PL
All premier transfer fees are bonkers now i really wouldnt let it bother you If we can t get him for 50m but can for 70m how does that difference effect you ?
As fans we see none of the extra t.v. money so don't let it worry you..
Salah showed some nice touches and went past Delaney like he wasn't there at one stage. Glorified training session really; we're ahead of Palace in fitness and sharpness - its their 1st game, our 3rd. No goals at half time. Up to 10 subs allowed but only 4 at a time, so no doubt things will change in the 2nd half.

I think just pay whatever it takes. All our rivals are improving their squad and we are buying hull players.
I don't think we're very different from the other clubs. We have not lost any first team players so far, and we got Salah.Who has been properly improving? I have not been paying much attention so some of these might be outdated/ missing some new people.
United lost Rooney (maybe past it), get Lukaku, but they might be losing Ibrahimovic who got them 17 league goals. Without those goals United would have likely done even worse than they did now. So have they really improved?
Arsenal got Lacazette, but might lose Sanchez etc.
City have got a Tottenham reject from the description on their thread, . Anyone else?
Tottenham have sold players, not bought anyone big.
Chelsea - anything there?
I don't think we are any worse than others, and better than some others in terms of improving on before.
