Terrible 1st half. No creativity in mid field at all. Sturbridge doesn't have the pace anymore, and isn't creating space for the other front players.

Better in the 2nd half, but only really after the goal.

Thought Robertson looked decent at LB.

No one hopefully will remember this game because this team will never line up like this again.

Matip MOM for me. Bullied Benteke.
Klavan, the way he got rolled in the second half. Carling Cup squad filler.
Robertson had a very good first half, especially going forward. And regardless of how bad he is defensively, he is never going to be as bad as Moreno.
Gomez is not a full back.
If Klopp is now playing Milner at centre midfield then Henderson doesn't get in the team. Henderson was useless with the crowd turning on him late in the game.
Wijnaldum is once more invisible. Can should be starting ahead of him next to Milner.
Sturridge was very poor. Very slow. Impact sub at best.
Firmino is better in the middle. Mane creates.

A game not to be remembered.

I remember Gomez being outstanding at LB a couple of seasons ago.

Or was I in a parallel universe ?

That's an interesting word you use.

He has talent, there's no doubt about that. He's no Moreno...

I didn't notice the crowd turn on Hendo RT? Yes there was a big moan for a bad pass but there was a few of them getting handed out to a few players..

1st half was awful nearly fell asleep

Really like the look of Solanke could turn out to be a true bargain...wont be long till he is 2nd choice
Lb looked a lot better but like everyone says our CM3 is simply not good enough at all...could replace all 3

Right towards the end. Huge jeers from the crowd when Henderson once more turned backwards. His first half in particular was awful. I'd be surprised to see him get much pitch time if he continues like this. And you can see why Klopp wanted Keita.

I corrected my poor grammar but which word is particularly interesting? You've lost me

Defensively at least, did we look more assured today? Or were we not troubled enough for them to be tested? Were we zonal marking again - did it look like Klopp has changed anything (apart from dropping the braindead LB).

Conpletely agree with everyone re: central midfield. Way too one dimensional. We need someone who can take the game to the opposition. A leader, a general. Sorry... deja vu?

Some of the negativity here is astonishing. We beat a team that has won at Anfield the last few years with a side containg three players making home debuts and Gomez who I dont think has yet played under Klopp. I really do wonder quite what some people expect. Fans? Fools more like.

The whole dynamic will change when Coutinho comes back, assuming he is going to be used as an attacking midfielder, rather than one of the front three. But it also means more defensive duties for the other two, which could be a worry.

One positive from today was the clean sheet, though Benteke will have a sleepless night over that miss.

Indeed & the same team that got grubbed 0-3 at home by Huddersfield last week.

I don't remember him as being outstanding Adam. A young lad who came in and looked a decent prospect definitely.

He was pulled out of position a few times early on and Matip ended up at right back. It wasn't tactical as it soon stopped. He got better though it was obvious he was limited going forward, especially his reluctance to cross the ball.

Robertson was much better on the left, there was a moment in the left half where he controlled the ball with one touch and whipped in a delightful cross. But then one is a full back.

Matip had Benteke in his pocket all game. That miss was on Klavan, he got rolled way too easily.

The whole dynamic will indeed change with Coutinho/Lallana playing in front of 2 central midfielders. Though from the options we have Can and Milner is probably our best combination and that's if Can stays, he's still not signed a contract.

Hopefully we see a more cohesive team on Wednesday as the opposition are in a different class to this Palace team today.

I actually forgot about Lallana, completely. Be great to have him back in the side. Still think we need to change the formation a little, especially at times like today when things just weren't clicking.

Like the look of the new left back, he's far from the finished article, but he has potential and his name isn't Moreno. Certain poster was writing him off even before he kicked a ball....

Paul Joyce - Barca have informed Liverpool that they have until Sunday to change their mind or their offer for Coutinho will be withdrawn.
