I think we've been through this already, but we had Sturridge and Henderson out for most of the season, not to mention Ings who was looking very promising. Which is like you losing both Kane and Dembele for most of the season and for half the season we were without one or two of Coutinho, Lallana and Mane, which is like you losing Eriksen. There were very few games you were without more than one of those players which allowed you to cope whereas there were not so many games we had what we'd consider a full strength XI.

Yes and you keep not understanding. Lamella missed almost the entire season.
Dembele was missing for big chunks
Kane missed a quarter of the season.
Rose missed half the season
Vert missed a month or so
Toby missed almost half the season
Winks had a season ending injury
The defense only played something like 3 games all year together.

Does this mean that Levy's long term plan is to sell off his prized assets so as to pay off the stadium improvements and hope that in the meantime Pochettino brings in/promotes players to replace them?
He's never paid superstar wages as long as I can remember, so that hasn't changed just because of the new build. We're bound to lose a few of our players, every club does every season.

No but it will have to change if Spurs are serious about challenging for titles, keeping their best players and attracting other big names.
As I said ALL clubs lose players, Walker isn't one of our best players imho, still sad to see him leave but not the end of the World. Now if someone came in for Erikson, Kane Alli or Hugo I'd be pissed off.mickk said:

Dembele managed 26 league games and 35 games overall and 2057 minutes.
Kane, 30 and 38 games and 2523 minutes.
Vert, 29 and 38 and 2601 minutes.
I'll give you Rose and Toby (though we also only had our first choice CB pairing for single digit number of games). But then compare that against Sturridge who completed 797 minutes (a third of what Kane did) and Ings who completed 595 fewer minutes than Lamela.
I also maintain that we were without Coutinho, Lallana and/or Mane at crucial parts of the season (Christmas and season end) whilst I seem to remember you had your injuries quite spread out across the season with only the injury to Kane in October being problematic whilst you had Champions League.
