You guys could have easily been in for James, Morata, Lacazette to name a couple off the top of my head.
Bayern are looking to offload a couple of very good wingers/forwards; you could probably even pick one up on loan.
All of those above are inferior to Kane, They are not going to come to us & sit on the bench i wouldn't of thought.Bayern are looking to offload a couple of very good wingers/forwards; you could probably even pick one up on loan.
The issue for me is the depth of our squad not so much the starting 11. In the FA Cup Semi, Chelsea brought on Hazard, Costa and Fabregas. Brought on!! Most teams in the league would give anything to have players of that quality in their starting 11 let alone sat on the bench.
Ironically one position where we did have some depth - right back - we've just sold that starting 11 player to a rival.
The problem is that our Daniel simply won't stick his hand far enough in to his pockets to pay the fees and the wages required to attract the level of player required. And in the current climate I can't blame him. But it does mean we are going to have to cope with a season away from home playing in a stadium we have not historically had great success in, with a thin squad with Champions League football to cope with as well.

Just let Poch do what he does best i say .
We have in the past had great expensive world class players but i've never seen a better team than this current one.
I know Mr Blib being more senior has but i haven't.
60/61 had more success for sure but was the competition as high? I'll be burned at the stake for it but this lot would play them off the park.We have in the past had great expensive world class players but i've never seen a better team than this current one.

I also love watching them play but can't say I don't care if we don't win anything because.
1) If we don't we risk loosing our decent players and will have trouble attractive decent new ones.
2) It's been 9 years since we've won anything so I think it's high time the long suffering Tottenham faithful had something to celebrate.
We've got a decent squad, probably the best I've seen in a very long time so we need to take a bit of a gamble and strike while the iron is hot. Get the cheque book out, get some strength in the squad and really go for it. A decent CL run or a league win will more than pay for any players we buy. If we don't we risk loosing key players next year due to a lack of ambition and success and we are back to square one. We need to stop pussy footing around and being so cautious all the time, it's got us nowhere for a decade, go after some decent players and really go for it. Just for once, I wish Levy could stop running Tottenham like a business and start running it like a football club that actually wants to win something other than the good bookkeeping award.

Excellent post. Completely agree. 1) If we don't we risk loosing our decent players and will have trouble attractive decent new ones.

Last year we had the best defence and attack and we're unlucky that Chelsea went on a great run.
If we keep the team together we're already half way there.
We also get:
- Lamela back (which is like a new signing), his tackling and goals are a great asset.
- Rose back who missed half the season.
- Dembele who was carrying an injury
- Winks who was out at the end of the season
Other teams may get new players which look great on paper but often take time to bed in.
- Chelsea will be strong
- Man Utd will be strong
- Arsenal will hope for a better season (the Sanchez saga will be interesting)
- City are still trying to sort out their defence (and Walker can be a bit headless)
- Liverpool will want to improve against weaker teams (but will do well to do so well against the Top 6)
- Everton could be amazing but could also take time to gel
I'd be happy if we get back up for Trippier and Kane.

Could be the tightest season ever. Everyone has European footie of some flavour to contend with. 7 into 4 certainly doesn't go!If we keep the team together we're already half way there.

Every summer everyone looks at the signings made and predicts X team will be strong this season. Completely ignoring the fact that some signings just don't fit in, some teams take a long time to figures themselves out and others suffer from injuries. I'll be amazed if more than even 4 teams have strong seasons again.

I've seen better players wearing the shirt. As for an 11, I've not seen better. Not over the course of a complete season. We have in the past had great expensive world class players but i've never seen a better team than this current one.
