I see the Coutinho to Barca thing is gathering more pace.
Would be a shame to lose him , he's in my the top ten Prem players & a delight to watch.
& Conte is Questioning Spurs ambition in the papers , WTF has it got to do with him ?
or is he just trying to justify spending oodles of cash to hold his own as a manger.

Standard Chelsea spiel. Think they've made comments like that before the start of the last two seasons in fact. Do they consider us their local rivals these days?
Mind you, are Arsenal really our local rivals these days now that they're not even local?

If you spend 100s millions on players, then of course the pressure to succeed is greater. It's a chicken & egg situation. What was particularly amusing was him stating that for Arsenal not win the title/progress in Europe/qualify for CL it would be a tragedy.....clearly not that big a tragedy judging by Wenger's career over the last 14 years

Conte was asked a question and he gave an honest opinion which, like Pochettino, is refreshing compared to most of the management speak/PR bks.If you spend 100s millions on players, then of course the pressure to succeed is greater. And judging by this thread most of you seem to prefer doing it the Spurs way rather than splashing the cash so what's the problem?

True, but I'm not sure why everyone thinks Abramovich or the Sheikh are just going to up and leave. They've both been at the clubs for a decade/nearly a decade and invested hundreds of millions of pounds into them.
I'd say the most vulnerable clubs are Man Utd, Arsenal and possibly Liverpool. If Utd and Arsenal keep failing to get into the Champions League then they're going to find it increasingly hard to attract the best players. Maybe not in the next few years, but starts the downward spiral. The youngest kids are already buying City and Chelsea shirts because that's where their favourite players are and they're playing on the World stage. It might not be making a massive difference now, but it will in a decade or two.

Taking the piss? Have you not just seen that MUFC are the most valuable football club and the 3rd biggest sports franchise in the world (behind the Yankees and Dallas Cowboys)? There is no chance that MUFC are at financial risk. Also have you not seen the players we've signed whilst not in the Champions league?I'd say the most vulnerable clubs are Man Utd, Arsenal and possibly Liverpool. Fine, but several years ago a number of us said you'd struggle because you had Scholes, Ferdinand, Evra, Rooney, Giggs all coming up to retirement and seemingly no plan in place to replace them. At the time you guys seemed incapable of considering an eventuality where Utd would be anything but successful and look where we are several years later...
