Same agent as Walker...what a surprise.

Ah well, Poch will find a new one.

Just need the new stadium built so the revenue will increase to be able to afford Top 5 team wages.

Spurs are spending a similar % of turnover to the others, the problem is revenue generation.

You can hardly blame a lack of winning trophies on him then.

So he's been injured for 6 months while being supported and paid by the club, with a manager that took him from a player that nearly ended up at Sunderland and in the Championship to England's #1 left back so he runs off to the Sun because suddenly he thinks the contract HE signed is not good enough and he wants to win trophies.

The comments about having to Google players and kidding himself that under Redknapp we had 2 good players in each position when he would have been second fiddle to Benny Assou Ekotto are just plain ridiculous. Not to mention doing all of this in the sun.

He can fk off, honestly. Transfer policy is nothing to do with him. Hopefully the big name signing he doesn't have to google is a world class left back so he can rot in the u23s.

It's easy to report on the low salaries Tottenham pay but these contracts are signed by the players and if it's not enough they don't have to sign. Plus no one knows a thing about any appearance bonuses which could bump things up considerably.

Most of the squad could get higher basic wages elsewhere, so why do they stay at Tottenham?

Is there something in the air on Ph this week? Spurs supporters thinking Bale will come back is only marginally less fanciful than Liverpool supporters thinking they're keeping Coutinho
Liverpool is not a club that has to sell players. That is set in stone. So what they pay in the end doesn’t matter.

From a financial standpoint, there is no price limit to let him go. No price at which we are ready to give in. Our goal is to have the best possible team. So we want to keep our guys and add new ones. That is our plan.
“Today, no player on the planet is untouchable. But a transfer is also a question of timing and if you have the opportunity and the need to react to such a transfer.

“Also you have to ask, if you have the time to react. But just because of one request of one club, we don’t have to think about that. We are not in that situation.”

Welcome to Arsenal's world 2008 to 2013....it's not much fun I can tell you. You're going to have a fantastic new stadium but there are going to be a painful two or three years.

Doesn't mean he played to the best of his ability in every game.

The stadium is nothing to do with it though.

It's simply a factor of wages vs revenue.

Until the revenue grows, wages have to stay where they are.

Clubs like WH and Palace can get away with the odd mega salary player because the rest of the squad isn't that good that they can command equal billing.

At Spurs if they give Eriksen 140k a week then you'll have Kane, Alli, Loris, Toby, Jan (at least) quite rightly knocking on the door wanting parity.

I don't blame him. I'm not complaining about winning trophies. He is. Yet he didn't contribute anything for 6 months of the season. So if we had won trophies, he'd not be able to take any credit as it would be despite him.

If he's as good as he thinks he is, then it's no wonder we didn't win when anything when he didn't play. Or if we win without him, then why does he think he deserves more money and medals? Or is he saying that we should sign someone who is equally as good as him, so that he can take 6 months off on full pay, yet still collect medals?

I see he's also saying that he's never going to forget (forgive?) how the Spurs fans treated him 3 years ago. That right there is the bridge burnt to me.

I dunno, Spurs talk on the Spurs thread, controversial. biggrin

He was had a go at because his performances were st, when he plays well he gets applauded. Hardly rocket science is it?

Real shame, at times last season he was the best player on the pitch.
To turn on the club like that is only ever going to get one reaction from the fans, hero to villan, he can fk off.
