We are just not good enough at home.

City are going to walk it. They are unplayable.
And yet there is no one from their team that I would swap with our 1st 11.

True they are putting the dross to the sword but they haven't played anyone good yet. Title will be deiced by results between the contenders.
Oh I'd have De Bruyne and/or Silva in the team...especially when that team is starting Sissoko.
Sissoko is only playing due to injuries.

Which 2 out of Wanyama, Dembele, Alli and Eriksen are you dropping for De Bruyne and/or Silva?

They have far greater strength in depth but then that's what you'd expect if you spend the GDP of Finland every transfer window....
What formation is being played and i'll tell you who would be dropped.

I'd not drop Kane, Alli or Eriksen but any of the other midfielders are up for the chop.

If it's the Kane, Son, Alli and Eriksen front 4 then Son gets the boot.

If it's the front 3 of Kane, Alli and Eriksen then they'd all stay but then I still get to drop Sissoko (or whoever he's in for).

any of them - seriously the delusion is strong here

Assume every Spud has a missus hotter than Emily Ratajkowski too
You'd swap Alli & Eriksen for De Bruyne and Silva, even though the former have contributed to more goals in the past 2 seasons and have better attacking stats across the board? And somehow that's going to make Spurs a better team? Or you want to swap Silva for Wanyama to play defensive midfield?
Bizarre.

That must explain with Citeh keep beating Spurs and finishing above them....oh wait....

I guess you're the expert in delusion though, you certainly have far more experience smile

Last season I'd say Eriksen was better than KdB. This year I think Kevin is probably the best player in the league so far.

Same with Alli, going on form this season alone there are two or three players in City's team that I'd swap with him.

Lloris
Davies/Rose
Verts
Toby
Sanchez
Aurier/Trippier
Wanyama
Dembele
Eriksen
Alli
Kane

That's our best 11. 3 at the back, 2 wing-backs, 2 midfield holding, 2 attacking midfield and 1 striker.

This is the Citeh team from Saturday:

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Otamendi
Mendy
Fernandinho
Sané
De Bruyne
Silva
Sterling
Agüero

Who are you swapping to improve Spurs' best 11?

Why do you think that though? He's only been involved in 3 EPL goals this season (all assists). That's less than both Eriksen and Alli.....

6 games, 3 assists...not much of a return for the best player in the league, considering that Citeh have scored 21 goals already.

do you really judge a player from Opta stats on assists?

do you think a City fan would swap Aguero, De Bruyne and Silva for your equivalent?

He leads the way in assists, chances created, key passes. He seems to have stepped up a notch this season and just edges Eriksen and Alli. I also think it's harder to be exceptional in City's team. He's sharing stats with Sane, Sterling, Aguero, Mendy, Silva, Jesus. At Spurs most of the goals and assists just come from Alli, Eriksen and Kane.

I'd take Walker, sane and KDB, but its not just about starting 11. Where Man city are so strong is strength in depth.

They wont be affected by injury, suspension or fatigue.

They will win the league by 5 points +

Do you judge a player from MOTD highlights? If he's the best player in the league and yet as an attacking midfielder, he's only been involved in 3 of his teams 21 goals, I'd suggest that he's not as influential as you suggest. You might as well say that a lack of goals doesn't mean that a striker isn't the best in the league.....

What is evident is that for all the talk of Citeh running away with the league because they've thumped a load of poor teams, is that compared to the other 3 or 4 title contenders, they don't have a surfeit of greater talent in the their best 11. The don't have Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo all playing for them. The teams are all pretty evenly matched. Chelsea won the league last season by winning the majority of their games by a single goal. Smashing 11 past Watford and possibly the worst team since Derby in Palace doesn't pre-ordain them as Champions. Results against rival top teams will be a far better indication.

Although I'm sure you knew this, but being a Scouse on the Spurs thread, you're duty bound to take a contrary position.

Their defence still isn't that great. In the first 25 minutes we were getting chance after chance. We should have been 2 or 3-0 up before Aguero scored!

The only thing he leads at Citeh is tackles.

not at all, I try and stay pretty balanced and, for example, don't visit other threads to WUM after a poor result

thought this was the welcoming thread?

feel free to point out and laugh at my delusional posts though, I am sure there are some about

Exactly. I just don't think that they are the wonder team that everyone makes them out to be. I think that the teams that won their previous 2 titles were stronger versus the competition, than the current team.

TBH for all the talk of Citeh, I think the other Manchester team will be the one's to watch out for this year.

City are a good team, no doubt, now watch them get schooled the first time they bumb into a bona-fida 'good team' like PSG, Madrid, Barca et all.

Good yes, but far from great and beatable.

It'll be interesting to see what happens against a team that will press them high again. As said, Liverpool could/should have been in front before the red card.
