He does not come across as the type of person that would accept that...seems a very petulant lad.... surely if a offer came in for him he would be off? He would easily get 200k a week elsewhere

I disagree sir, 7 games in & he's already scored two goals & has two assists .

Maybe outstanding is not the correct word to use but he's been pretty good.

I really thought when we lost Rose that Davies would be nowhere near as good, but he has.

Perhaps it's been so long that I've forgotten how good Rose was but I'd agree that Davies has been a decent enough replacement that I've not really noticed Rose's absence.

I think i'd be more upset at losing Davies than I would losing Rose.

It helps that they've moved to 3 at the back so he's got plenty of cover in behind him. It's his pace that lets him down and means that when he was on his own 1 on 1 it was always hands over eyes viewing.

Something you don't appreciate / can't see if you only watch the game on the telly is the amount of times he drifts far to far up the pitch and gets disconnected from his teammates. Some of his positional play is shocking (the Burnley game sticks out in my mind in particular). He doesn't have the pace to play as a wingback and needs to stop trying to play as one. He is getting better and it's great to have a defender who can attack but he needs to remember his number 1 job is to defend.

Still, if you ignore the 1 FA Cup, the 4 League Cups, the 6 Community Shields, the 1 Europa League, the 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup and 5 League titles since then we won a trophy more recently...
