They may as well hand the trophy to city in Jan, i think we were the only ones really capable of keeping them honest but we just havent been good enough unfortuantly.

They will win the league by +10 points.

I don't expect anyone to catch City, they are just too good so it's a fight for the other 3 places and we are still in with a shot. We've got some easier games coming up, I'd be resting Kane for the Dortmund game, no point as we've already qualified and just concentrate on getting points from the next 3 premiership games.

When you've effectively played no home games (and with no home games to come) 4th at this stage of the season is remarkable position.

Everybody was expecting a 6th or even 7th place position so we're over-achieving thus far.

It says something that we are actually all disappointed that we're not giving City a run for their money. 3 points behind United, 2 behind Chelsea and still ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal.

We'd have all taken that I'm sure.

Moving it across the other side of the country won;t help, Adam. It's still Liverpool. hehe

You're fine though, don't think anyone noticed!!
I did, but messed up the edit and quoted myself - too much beer probably

The point stands - Spuds posting pictures of concrete slabs and black seats, and thinking a new stadium will lure top talent is bit of a joke. Of course a new stadium is usually nicer than an old one, but Salah is not going to jump ship for a pay cut and a "we finished above Liverpool" medal

My boy is working full time in the Stadium & I get to go there about twice a week & the good people on here asked if I could post the odd picture.

The stadium will help us to sign players, just wait till you see the place finished.

Whilst a shiny new stadium isn't enough in itself to lure top talent what we do know is that 'history' isn't anywhere near enough to get you a superstar either.

I wouldn't say it helped Arsenal much. Or West Ham.

I would - without it they wouldn't be able to pay the wages they do, or spend the money on players that they have.

Moving from 38,000 to 60,000 (and Spurs moving from 36,000 to 61,500) is a huge jump in revenue, makes paying the top wages/prices possible.

West Ham do not enjoy the full financial benefit of owning their own stadium with naming right finance, etc.

Plus they're just a bit poo biggrin

West Ham do massively well out of their stadium deal. They have to pay for little of the expenses of such a large stadium and they get much of the revenue that comes in from match days. All without having to spend £500m-1000m on the stadium itself.

As for Arsenal, they were in a great financial position before they moved and they don't really spend a lot of money on transfers anyway. I'm sure they would have still got Sanchez, Ozil and Cech had they not moved.

I don't pretend it does - which is why I am not on PH claiming Liverpool could poach Spurs players

Because Arsenal are one of the clubs that can afford to spend 200M+ on wages. Same as United, City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Spurs only just crack 100M spend. To bridge the gap they need to generate more money...hence the stadium.

Just been looking at that site esp thr inside the areana shots of the NFL and FA pitches and something just doesnt add up. But to allay my fears, anyone know what

1) the full size of the pitch playing area will be

2) distance of fans behind each goal to the goal line

It will be 105 x 68

And the distance to stands is:

Am I right in thinking an NFL pitch is narrower? If so, why the distance from the side of the football pitch to the stands? All the gubbins underneath for moving the pitch I guess?

I think it's a combo of walkways for fans, advertising hoardings, warm up areas, dugouts, pitch run off areas etc.

The width's I believe are pretty normal for new stadiums. The south stand is much closer than most.
