Apparently your wage bill last year was very close to ours which shows you can at least compete with us on wages. But I imagine the proportion of your wage bill that was performance based was a lot higher which had led to your wage bill being higher in the last couple of seasons where you've done well in the league.
Our wage bill is a million miles away from yours. You've dropped 250k PW on coutinho we couldn't even do half that.

Make your mind up a few mins ago you were saying we match your wages now your saying we chose not to.
I'm not down about our form at all, we all predicted a season away from home would prove difficult and hey presto we were right, I'm pretty sure internally they thought the same and that another top 3 finish would be nice but not a deal breaker for levy/poch
UCL was somewhat unaffected as every game, bar dead-rubbers, is like a cup game home or away.
We've everything in place for some success, from the club's local involvement through youth development and the ladies getting into the top flight all the way through to the training centre and the setup MoPo has in place at the top end.
There's a reason why England train at Hotspur way not the quite expensive St. George's park...

You're living in a dream world. Liverpools wage bill is 10s of millions per year more. It's not even close.
I apologise, it's not total revenue that is close, but the percentage of turnover that's close:Somehow they are competing with half the wage bill of the other top 5 clubs.

You've done it now - they'll be wanting a trophy for being in the "top 20 clubs" now,
Hey it's you chaps trying to aline yourselves with us, perhaps to try and justify finishing below us year in year out when there's really no excuse? More seriously though, since you all have commented that this season would be around 5 million times more difficult due to playing away from home all the time, plus other clubs putting in 1008% more effort as they're playing at Wembley, then what are the expectations next season? Surely they'd be higher than this season due to the stadium effect?
that last column is really telling, in the leagues ruled by one or two clubs they are spending 5x the average, in the prem where bottom beats top happens more often (not enough to unseat the hegemony but often enough to be remarked upon) the TV money is a more equitable split.

There's loads of excuses! Overspending on rubbish being the main one,

Yes we all called it pre season but then we are more balanced than most. Next season I would expect us to be better at home yes. It's not a difficult concept to grasp playing all your games away from home is more difficult than playing half your games away from home.

I dont know about that, using the LA Rams from American Football, they are doing rather well at the moment winning lots of games on the road and at 'home' though most of the players are new and journeymenNext season I would expect us to be better at home yes. It's why I probably watch more American Football than I do Football now.
