I thought the new stadium was costing £800m?
There's a lot of debate about this figure on various forums and even in the minutes of meetings between THST and the Club. Short answer is it's impossible to attribute a final number to the costs for the stadium alone because the stadium is one part of the whole Northumberland Park Development Project. Less shorter answer is - the building industry experts say that given the plans, materials and techniques involved there's no way the stadium alone can cost £800m (even allowing for inflation and exchange rate movements) so that figure is for the whole project. Donna Cullen responded to a question in writing saying it's just the stadium cost. Daniel Levy said it's impossible to attribute a final figure to just the stadium alone. But the "experts" believe that the club will want the figure for the stadium cost to be as high as possible because it gives prestige and leverage when negotiating the naming rights.JustinF said:
Re. the Financial situation
http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/club/announce...
for those too lazy to read it, We had a finance agreement for £200m dating back some years, of which we have drawn £100m towards our new stadium's land acquisition, planning, legal costs/challenges etc. We have so far spent £340m, £100 from the finance and a whopping £240m from the club.
The new finance deal gives us £400m to spend, payable over 5 years
That answers a lot of the questions over the last year about 'where is all the profit going?'
So we've improved as a club, built a world class training facility, plowed money into a new stadium and only drawn down £100m, and the new stadium will be paid for by 2023 that is staggering!
Quite. I said at the time that the money can't have evaporated and when you read the accounts it seemed that the money was going on the 'project'. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/club/announce...

Basically they were averaging 27m a year spending on that rather than the playing squad...but weren't communicating that.

Re the sliding pitch, I heard that it was going to be split the other way and stacked underneath, as it doesnt look like there is enough free space between the edge of the south stand and Park Lane road
I've never heard that rumour myself but the plans are very clear - it will split lengthwise and slide under the South stand and the podium:Moussa Sissoko was on target on a special night for Hugo Lloris as France put five past Paraguay in Rennes on Friday night.
Hugo has now made 88 appearances for france making him the most capped french goalkeeper ever .
Great news about Sissiko though as we may get someone stupid enough to buy him this summer.
