Presumably Barcelona will be a similar treat. Luckily I'm on a flight during the game so won't have to endure it.

I guess that even oligarchs can't compete with full on Gulf state sponsorship.

How the fk did football get to this state?

You serious ?

Haha, I was about to post the same thing!!!!! hehe
I can confirm that I personally had nothing to do with Abramovic buying Chelsea, the Sky TV deal, the billions injected into City or the disregarding of FFP.

But mainly pissed off with the piss poor display that we put up today frown

This seems to be getting a bit of a sequence do st, win league, do st,win league. Let's just hope that continues as just finishing 4th every year with nothing to shout about would suck. Doing st every other year makes the good years even more special. Bring on next season with the next Messiah wink !!

26% possession, 3 shots (0 on target). A relegation-threatened team would be embarrassed by that

Conte has a point that Wenger got slaughtered for being too open and conceding 3 early goals and he gets slaughtered for being too defensive.

The pundits are complaining that they're not being entertained because 90% possession is boring. Is this the fault of 19 clubs or the fault of City? If it were horse racing there'd be some handicapping.

Even so our display was feeble and pathetic and we're performing at 90% all season.

Are you suggesting the City players should have lead weights on their legs to give other teams a chance smile

Have to say I was rather annoyed by Conte's post match comments about how he didn't want to lose by 3 or 4. That's the mentality of a relegation threatened club, damage limitation against the big teams to save themselves for the 6 pointers. Except City are supposed to be our rivals.

You mean blame Conte and I totally agree, shocking tactics. Never even wanted to compete. Just to sit back and watch a thousand passes in front of you going nowhere is so dull. Barca game maybe the last, don't think they'll can him until we're out of Europe.
And if we happen to win (which I have a feeling in my water we will) does he get a new contract?

Didn't look like there was much fight in the Chelsea players: https://twitter.com/LeroySZN/status/97036245757849...

Definitely not the intensity you need to beat City regardless of tactics employed.

Bit torn yesterday who was at fault for the dismal display.

On one hand Conte set up to be very defensive and hit on the counter attack (you can't blame him for that really). When we won the ball back we were inept in possession. Not Conte's fault. Several times Pedro gave the ball away way too easily and others were guilty of that too. And Victor Moses probably should have scored when he hit it wide (at least hit the target).

On the other hand at 1-0 down with 20 mins to go I would have taken Pedro off and put Morata or Giroud on, probably Giroud to hold the ball up a little for some respite for chasing the ball. Imo - Conte put him on too late.

There just seems to be a message coming from Conte, we're simply not good enough (we probably aren't) but that seems to be emanating to the players where we're under-performing through lack of confidence.

Just a stay of execution... and I think Conte knows that. He's probably already got something lined up though as most of the manager-merry-go-round seem to do. Personally I hope they get Someone, he's probably done all he can longterm at Athletico. (And bringing Diego back with him would be priceless drama biggrin)
