Kante nibbling at their ankles would have been a start wink
Apparently he's got the ump too .

Someone on the radio said that Hazard threw his shirt at Conte , is this true ?

What were you thinking letting Costa go ?

Did they have a choice? He literally wouldn't come back to this country, let alone the club!

And if we happen to win (which I have a feeling in my water we will) does he get a new contract?
Just a stay of execution... and I think Conte knows that. He's probably already got something lined up though as most of the manager-merry-go-round seem to do. Personally I hope they get Someone, he's probably done all he can longterm at Athletico. (And bringing Diego back with him would be priceless drama biggrin)
I’d not thought of that possibility even though remote! Wouldn’t that be fun!

And I was talking about the CL, not just the game against Barcelona. I know it’s unlikely, but I have this feeling. The last time I had this was Xmas 2011.

I don't know what your feeling is but this is different. That time there were some real leaders, like the time Grunt "took" us to the final. Under Grunt the players single handedly got us to the final. Under Di Matteo it was similar... there were characters & leaders... think Terry, Lampard, Cech, Drogba, Cole, Ivanovic. Hazard for all his talent is not in their league for leadership. I'm afraid the team is leaderless & lacks real character.

I agree somewhat - however we naturally see these players with a great sense of nostalgia. Interestingly I read through the thread from 2011/12, and we were talking about those players then like we do today with Cahill, Morata, Hazard, Luiz etc. Also, a managerial change mid way through the season did the world of good for the club. We were not current league champions then either, and the current league position was similar.

I don't know what the feeling is, but it is there. I am not as confident to put money on it this time though!! smile

The year brilliant, year ste concept is a strange one that needs breaking.

I agree, there is no leader within the squad. Cahill's definitely not JT and although Dave is Mr. dependable steady Eddie and a great team player, he's not one to rally the troops. David Luiz isn't the one either. My mate sat with Paul Merson and Ray Wilkins before the Barca game and Butch said that they need to get rid of DL quick cuz he's poison in the dressing room.

Huge relief Spuds are out. Them winning the CL was my biggest fear. Even sweeter given that they played really well and deserved to win. hehe

Winning isn't everything... but it sure beats the st out of losing. We've played well on numerous occasions and come away as losers, that's the game. I must admit though playing crap, and coming away with an undeserved victory does give me a certain pleasure evil even better than playing well and deserving the win.
Will be travelling down for the Palace game at the weekend, hope we don't turn out a crazy weak side with Wednesday in mind as we need to build confidence so can't afford anything other than a win. (And it's a long way to go to see a reserve team playrolleyes)

Maybe we should play the reserves. We can't win the league and there's little chance of Arsenal catching us.

Good idea....you play the reserves, and we'll continue to play crap with our '1st team' rolleyes and with any luck, Burnley will overtake us both and end up in the dreaded 5th place thumbup

I'd be happy with that and if we win the champions league and you the Europa we both qualify for CL next season. Plus Wenger will be deemed heroic and get a 2 year extension and the other teams and journalists will have a continuing source of fun.

Chelsea to win the ECL relegating Spurs to the Europa, I like it but to be honest I can see the flaw in your plan.
