We have a great U23s team, so I'm sure he'll fit right in.

My son is a sports journalist and played in a press tournament at The Bridge last night, on the hallowed turf under the floodlights. Jammy bugger!

But even better than that, look what he brought home. I'd doubted it actually existed in real life!

I'm still not convinced that really happened and it wasn't just some sort of collective bizarre fever dream

Bit harsh - didn't Pochetino win Manager of the Month in April?

Maybe they can incorporate that into the spuds thread title.

Please tell me we're not actually going to pay proper money for Lukaku. He's a very average player. Everton is exactly the right club for him. Not good enough for the top clubs and too good for the ones that might go down.

I'm not convinced by him either - great on his day, but seems to go missing in the big games

We sold him for £28m which I thought was great business by us, and he's improved since then. £35m is the max we should offer. He's worth no more than that.

He will do well at Chelsea.
He does well at Everton who have a piss poor attack.

Replace Barkley and Mirallas with Hazard and Pedro and I think he would bag as many goals as he has done for Everton, or more.

Do Chelsea create a lot of chances for a typical centre forward though? They don't play with a lot of width or supply many crosses from wide men. A lot of Costa's goals seem to be him pressuring defenders into mistakes or punishing loose balls. Lukaku seems to be a different player and may not compliment Chelsea's style.

Thought the same regarding Matic and Luis but proved wrong on both counts.

Think Lukaku is a lazy lump with poor decision make regarding shoot or pass so I need to be proved wrong again.

I was quite happy when we brought those 2 back to the Bridge. I did however think £11m for Frank Lampard was a total waste of money. rofl
