Sarri's objective is passing and possession, winning seems irrelevant.

Should we endure another 12 months of this tripe or just face the reality that Sarri is just a failed banker and of no value to us.
Jose is available , Lives local too.

I've had enough of the mystique of foreign coaches. I'd rather go back to a full English.

We could wait for 2.5 years like Man Utd and Mourinho but delaying to avoid the humiliation of admitting a mistake is worse in my view. Bite the bullet.

Agreed. The guy is there for a reason. He wasn't appointed as an interim Manager.

And there are still plenty of mediocre players in the squad, changing the manager wont' fix that

There is still no clear pattern of play. The ball is just not being moved fast enough, they are too reliant on Hazard, there is no centre forward.

The delivery yesterday into the box was appalling the number of times they couldn't get the ball past the first defender was astounding. If they did there was no natural striker waiting for it. Willian, Pedro & Apzi's crossing was just dire. Thats not Sarri's fault. We need a proper striker in the transfer window, let Morata go....he's shot. I think I'd let Willian go too.... he's been good but I think his best is past. Sarri needs to be given more time & a few better players.

Think you need a gritty centre forward tbh. Morata is not up for the Premier league IMHO

Roman should move heaven & earth to get Diego back.

Agree with your analysis except the bit that it's not Sarri's fault.

Giroud was on the bench so Sarri decided to play without a traditional centre forward.

Sarri plays Kante out of position and reduces his effectiveness.

Sarri likes everything to go through Jorginho so it's endless meaningless passing.

Sarri is now giving ridiculous excuses after games regarding the mental approach of the players. His excuses are of a different style but just as ridiculous as Mourinho's.

We might struggle to keep pace with City but I'm expecting us to take the game to the likes of Leicester and Wolves and do better than clinging on against Brighton and Fulham.

Also as much as we all love Zola does he add anything apart from agreeing with Sarri in Italian? Zola's a lovely gent, technically one of the most gifted ever but management wise hasn't exactly covered himself in glory so far.

Two things worry me about Sarri.

Firstly, the football he plays is not part of our club's DNA. I said that after we beat Arsenal. Like Mourinho at Man U. Great manager, but wrong club.
Secondly, we only have one player, Kante, who is the undisputed best in the world in his position, and he's not playing him in that position. That's just bonkers.

Where's he playing him? RCM in a midfield trio?

Not being sarcastic here btw, not seen much of Chelsea this year and I didn't go the game yesterday (we'd been playing crap and it's close to Christmas!)

He's been played as an advanced midfielder, when he should be doing the Makele role in front of the defence.

Not sure about the club DNA thing, look at Pep, he's gone to Citeh, and imposed his brand of football on them and they've been outstanding. Klopp has done the same at Liverpool. I think what's missing is some tactical issues, playing Kante out of position is crazy, and I can't begin to understand it, additionally, they are missing key players in a few key positions, principally centre back and centre forward. Most critically the centre forward position is the one which is really damaging this team. Morata is not upto it at all, he needs to go. We never should have sold Costa. They need a strong, confident centre forward who can hold the ball up and score when presented with chances. We will struggle to gain 4th spot this year, which is progress of a sort.

I think it’s too early to discount Sarri. The lack of a striker is a major issue he needs chance to resolve. At present there is far too much reliance on Hazard and I’m also worried about the invisible force field that appears to render Kovacic useless when he’s anywhere near the opponent’s penalty area. Our football at the moment is far too one dimensional.

Agree with the comments on Costa - big mistake ever letting him go.

100% we need a new striker and would love Diego to have stayed but he was half way out the door 6 months before he went. He always missed Madrid.

I would prefer to see the shape of the midfield 3 changed. Ideally Kante alongside Cesc/Jorginho with RLC in front, Hazard and Pedro wide of him forming a 4-2-3-1. Won't happen though.

What is Chelsea’s DNA? When I think of the DNA of Chelsea it is John Terry, Lampard and Drogba.
So what is wrong about Sarri that doesn’t fit Chelsea’s DNA?
He likes the passing game?

Jorginho was the orchestrator at Napoli. Allan the energetic midfielder who I guess Sarri would like Kante to be similar too, interceptions higher up the pitch rather than shielding the back 4 90% of the time.

Then Hamsik, Callejon, Mertens and Insigne.

The passing play will click eventually. Napoli play some unbelievable football and know how to move the ball. You’ll be happy when your players get the blueprint locked down and Sarri buys I guess the players he thinks will be able to fit his plan the best.

Surprised that he didn’t try and bring Koulibaly and Insigne with him from Napoli. Hazard and Insigne linking up would give he opposition a headache.

Surely it was Conte who effectively made Costa unwanted, telling him by text he wasn’t part of his future plans. Harsh.
