Barca offered cash and a player for Willian, but we said no?

I'm not even convinced it was a pen. Kane appeared to stand on Kepa's hand in the replay I saw.
I was at the game, and had a side in view, level with the keeper. I thought he was well onside and I thought it was a clear pen. As soon as it went to VAR I knew we were doomed. Now I've seen replays, I've changed my view on both. VAR is fking rubbish.
Tis my point. You could forgive the linesman/ref for getting the offside incorrect without the use of VAR. The fact they got it wrong with VAR is embarrassing.I was at the game, and had a side in view, level with the keeper. I thought he was well onside and I thought it was a clear pen. As for the penalty....well it was 'clever' play from Kane. If you look at the replay he was going down prior to the slight touch by Kepa and he massively exaggerated his dive. I obviously wouldn't complain if he'd have given Chelsea that decision.

Oh FFS. It wasn't offside and the decision was taken. You got off light as the keeper should have been sent off.
Why? Being the last man & conceding a penalty for a foul is no longer an automatic red. Predictably what I expected tbh.
3 points, but didn't make it easy for ourselves. We started well, then as usual let the game drift, Newcastle come back into it and score. Then it's like a kick up the backside and we have to start playing again. TBF we turned in around in the 2nd half and Newcastle were nowhere near as threatening in the 2nd half as they we in the period up to half time.
We should have put the game to bed, Pedro with two great chances. Granted the keeper made a decent save from the 1st one.

Reports that CHO won't sign any (realistic) deal we can offer him. It's a shame really but, no player is bigger than the club - whether its a world beater in their prime or an 18 year old with huge potential.
Problem is, Bayern can offer places to young kids - they compete against one team in the league and pretty much are nailed on to get CL football. Chelsea (or anyone in the PL for that matter) don't have that luxury. The price you pay for being the most competitive league in the world I guess!

Ironic that your youth policy has been for a long time, to sign kids with potential, loan them out and sell for a profit. Now the one kid you want to hold on to, wants to leave!
The kid will become a multi-millionaire over night signing for Bayern. I'm sure he also sees the academy prospects whose careers fizzle out without them ever really getting their chance to shine and doesn't want to be like that not when he's in such demand and has a chance to move to a great team like Bayern. He's also got to know that Chelsea chop and change managers like I change my boxers so who's to say that he would get another chance under a Sarri replacement? anniesdad said:

Yup, unfortunately the number of players who have left and gone on to become stars now seems to outweigh those who have made it from the academy, so it's going to be seen as the route to take for any youth player that wants regular top league football.trackdemon said:
