The board backing Lampard to the hilt.
Expectation should be high.
Expectation should be high.
A couple of years ago when Abramovich was denied a UK business visa it was said he pulled the plug on the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge in a direct response. It was rumoured back then that he’d halt major investment into other areas of the club too. How times change as this transfer window prove.

Need to get that Mendy deal done and have him in goal for the weekend. Kepa is a joke.
Just seen this stat on the BBC....Since he joined Chelsea in 2018, Kepa Arrizabalaga has conceded more Premier League goals from outside the box (19) than any other goalkeeper. Indeed, excluding blocked shots, Kepa has conceded nine of the past 13 overall shots on target he has faced in the Premier League.
Watched last nights game and there didn’t really seem to be much desire and intensity in the squad. Everything looked a bit lethargic and ordinary. Early days though and will take some time to bed in with new signings.
Agreed that Kepa needs to go. He flapped at a few corners and looks shaky as a shot stopper; stats seem to support that. Defence looks short on confidence after last season and having Kepa behind them can’t be helping with that. New defensive signings might help but Thiago Silva can’t be relied on to shore them up every game, as he clearly won’t be playing every match.

A new keeper should instil a bit of confidence in the backline. Currently it is a desperate situation where they know if a shot gets beyond them, or a player does, half the time it will result in a goal.
I think the criticism of RLC is also harsh, same with Neville and Carragher last night. RLC forced his way into our side and had been playing really well under Sarri. His injury is tough to recover from and he's lost a year of his career. Normally he would have had a few pre-season games this summer to get some match fitness and sharpness back but covid has put an end to it. Give him a chance for the rest of the season. He could well go at the end of it but he's had such bad luck these past 15 months, I really hope he can turn it around.
