And the relevance of Roman being Russian and a Jew is ... ?
Because it's ironic that a large percentage of Chelsea supporters shout anti-Semitic comments at Spurs but if it wasn't for a jew pumping money in at Chelsea geezer above wouldn't be off to a Champions League game tonight. But you knew that already.
And you know this as fact, how?
Because Chelsea were regulars in the European Cup and the Champions League before RA came along.....not.
We made it Europe before RA. But anyway, the point was, how do you KNOW we wouldn't have been in Europe without RA? Perhaps another investor would have come along. Perhaps the team which had qualified for the CL thanks to Jesper Gronkjaers goal (making the club an attractive proposition for investors) would have performed rather well the following season, and would have grown organically? What if, what if, what if.... You don't know, none of us know. It's speculation, which is not the same as fact

You do have to wonder what the point of teams like CarrierBag getting into the ECL is.

I agree. Although it's good from their point of view and probably a good little earner for them, which is no bad thing. Secondly....builds up the tension for what is to come biggrin

I think he means that Roman Abramovich's buyout of Chelsea almost certainly rescued the club from having to default on a £75m loan that would have plunged it into financial crisis. Leeds competed in the CL before RA pitched up.....then they were plunged it into financial crisis.....now they don't compete in the CL.

Perhaps. Although where we'd be today, 13 years later, is just conjecture. After all, when Spuds were on the verge of meltdown, and Robert Maxwell has to prop them up with a loan, probably stolen from the Mirror pensioners, who would have thought they'd be building a mega stadium today? Who knows, one day they might actually win something.

True.

Apart from Maxwell never loaning the club any money, whatsoever.

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps....

Indirectly, he did.

And you appreciate there's still a difference between a 'Loan' and 'Giving' yes?

Indirectly, so did the Government by giving me a student loan with which to spend on buying a season ticket.

You keep saying this over and over despite it not having a grain of truth to it. Every time you get proved wrong you leave it a week or two then say it again.

You are wrong twig, completely and utterly wrong. I think youve actually peddled this so much now you actually believe it and use it as some strange way to justify what has happened to achieve the success at chelsea.

No..... Although.....the cup final and charity shields were both matches where Chelsea didn't seem right, as was with the first game on the season. Since then they seem better, so it'll be interesting.

Not going to be easy.

Hazard on the bench, Cahill starts. Is it too late to unsuccessfully appeal his ban so it can get extended?
