Yes, made hard work of that. None of the strikers really convince at the moment

City in the semi final then.

Good to still be fighting on 3 fronts heading into April. I noted on the commentary yesterday it was mentioned if we don't win anything this year it will be the first time in the Abramovich era we have gone 2 seasons without a trophy.

Oh well, getting to a cup semi isn't a bad run.

I'm confident..... we'll stuff them in the semi.... then get beat by Southampton in the final.... finishing off with getting beat by city 4-0 in the Champions League final laugh

I saw it more as getting through to the next round and then being knocked-out later the same day.

Jorginho is having a nightmare today, would get him off now for Mount or Gilmour. Do well to get a point.

That first goal from West Brom was hilarious. It was like your defence think every team has to piss about with the ball at the back aimlessly and didn’t know how to deal with route one. Piss poor.

Shocker and not just because of Silva's daft double yellow, it looked like we simply forgot how to defend and keep the ball. Fair play to WB they were good for large parts of the game with some cracking goals. Hopefully now we've got that st out of our system we'll be back to form against Palace. Not ideal prep for Porto away though! yikesrolleyes

even allowing for going a man down after 30 mins, that was beyond bad.

Pissing about playing the ball out slowly from the back and giving West Brom time to get into shape and hold it rigidly. Little movement to try to disrupt West Brom’s organisations and a complete failure to understand that other teams will play on the counter attack or long ball, rather than tiki taka at the back for 60 minutes.

I’m not a fan of Allardyce’s anti-football, but I thought he played this brilliantly and has clearly used the international break to his advantage.

Well, this is more like it. Professional, composed display..... Looks like Saturday was an aberration, as hoped....

Great result for you guys, beer

Shame we couldn’t do our bit to make it another classic semi final

I wouldn't count Liverpool (or Porto) out just yet. 90 more minutes left to play...

The problem for Liverpool is this looks like less an aberration, and more like form.

Good to see so many tasty games at this stage of the competition though. No team is trying the "playing not to lose" thing, everyone going for it.

That we'd lose. I couldn't stand going out to Liverpool yet again in a CL semi. Going out to RM I can deal with.

But let's get past Porto first. We're in a great position, but it's only half time. Still plenty of scope for chucking it all away.

Yeah but we're at 'home' for leg 2 so it's in the bag, right? hehe

Comfortable win away at Palace. Now a season defining week, Porto and City in FA Cup SF.
