No excuses here from a City fan.

You were much better than us on the night, three wins out of three.

Enjoy it, you deserve it.

Have a great weekend.
That is such a great post - thanks. thumbup

But City had the consistency through the season that we lacked, so they were worthy winners of the PL.

It can't be all bad when Blues win and Reds don't feature!

So when are the admins going to change the thread title to acknowledge the CL win and Leicester's FA Cup? Arsenal still hold the cup and City have a quadruple! smile

"Champions of Europe (again !!)", we'll sing it all season but it would be nice for us and Leicester to have the recognition, preferably before the new season gets under way. It's well over due.

Given our history of signing well past their sell by date strikers, have we signed Messi yet?

I saw that earlier. Just awful. When Michael Ballack was with us and was being post match interviewed, and now as a pundit, he always comes across as a perfect gent.

He was brilliant as a half-time pundit on the last World Cup. Perfect English and as sharp analysis as any other ex-player. Horrible for him.

Rumoured that Inter are going into administration, if that turns out to be true I think football is in for an interesting time.

Clear their debts and be bought in a pre-packaged deal.

Yeah, was a bit tongue in cheek - although we do have form for spending big on dodgy Strikers hehe

Lukaku looks a good buy, assuming we get him though

Stupid money. He's become a better player than I though he would be but he's not a £100m player, not even close. £30m tops. He's Emile Heskey Mk2.

He seems to work if the team is set up for him. He was OK at Chelsea previously, great at Everton, then pretty poor at Utd. We'll have to wait and see how well he fits in with Tuchel's plans.

Any opinions on whether he could play with Werner, or only replace? I haven't followed how each striker worked with partners in other leagues.

In an ideal world, Lukaku would demand the attention of the centre backs and stay in the box, leaving Werner to use his speed and guile without as much pressure to "get it in the net" from crosses or set pieces.

They're quite different types of player so I could see them dovetailing well. Another good point I heard the other day - under the new VAR o/s rules this season quite a few of Werners disallowed goals would have been valid; he does like to play on the shoulder and burn pace. Coming in from left, giving big problems, opening space for Lukaku... then there's Mount, Pulisic, Havertz etc picking up gaps with great ability to score too..... Could be quite the season.
