Well that was pathetic
Worrying form recently in the league, poor performances against Arsenal and City and now pathetic to lose against Palace. This highlights the failure of the transfer policy in not ensuring quality strikers. Batshauyi is a sub, he’s not a number one choice yet.

That Tammy Abrahams looks a far better player than Batshauyi .

This is the bizarre thing. Why can’t the club see the potential of players like that and utilise them?

Because at the highest level they can't cut it.

The fans give players about 10 minutes to get up to speed. Take Pedro for example, fans were on his back in the first season and he's ex Barcelona and an experienced international. What chance has Tammy Abrahams got?

Ruben Loftus Cheek was meant to be the best out of the academy but looked half baked.

Top flight clubs haven't got the time to nurture in the first team. Loan them out and get them back if they prove themselves. Or buy proven talent from feeder clubs like Spurs (couldn't help myself).

I think fans would be a lot more patient with one of their own academy prospect, but it is immensely frustrating how they aren't given a chance. Rashford only got an opportunity due to injury and look how well that turned out. Paper talk is that Conte is really unhappy we failed to land Llorente, would would really help us out right about now. Shame that Oxlade-Chamberlin chose to spend his career on Liverpool's bench instead of providing an alternative to Moses as well.

1. Not much difference between spending time on Liverpool's bench or Chelseas!
2. I don't think The Ox is the solution either of our teams are looking for right at the moment!

As with Moses,I feel he could have really developed under Conte when deployed on the wing. But instead he decided he wants to be an attacking midfielder, joins a team which already has a load of decent attacking midfielders, then gets more gametime for country than club

All braced for a tough time tonight or will we put the Palace debacle behind us?

I'm not sure what planet they're on. Suddenly the game plan is give the ball to the opposition and hope they don't score. Pretty dismal. 3-3 against an average side is pretty poor.

We look knackered and short of confidence.

Roma were decent but fortunately for us were no Palace.

Just coming back from the game. Credit where credit is due - Roma were excellent and the volley from Dzeko was class!

I'm not sure about the subs tonight as I would have taken Cesc off rather than Luiz who I feel also would be the man to put on Dzeko from set pieces. All seems a bit flat at the moment.

We're missing Kante badly. On the positive side, Christiansen continues to impress.

I thought Kante was indestructible, can't believe he's pulled a hamstring.

I thought that Luiz picked up an injury? Although depending on which report you read it was also a tactical sub confused

The passing sideways at the back then long balling certainly wasn't working - not sure about the back 3 at times, sometimes they can be purposeful and play great, but today they looked to shocked to get it into the midfield - end up inviting pressure and creating chances for the opposition. A hardworking striker puts them into panic mode at times.

Morata is class though - no goal but his off the ball runs and general play is miles ahead of Batshuayi.
