If a team is playing in a Chelsea kit and calling themselves Chelsea, I'll support them. I don't care if it's men, women, geriatrics playing walking football, 11 blind guys playing with a bell in the ball, or 2 kids I don't know playing Subbuteo.
Good for you.Looks like the spuds are in for a coronary in the THFC thread

You must have loved it then when David Mellor was scoring with a younger intern in a Chelsea shirt.G-wiz said:

Easiest thing to do is to change the manager, and while that's not the main issue, it does feel as though we at least need some fresh thinking coaching the first team.

Sure Boehly is to blame, but Potter simply isn’t up to the task. He doesn’t know his best team, he could’ve played a team comprising of the majority of the team last season but hasn’t. I’m not sure what the answer is. So much damage has been done. The team seems so feeble and lacking in any character or fight.Easiest thing to do is to change the manager, and while that's not the main issue, it does feel as though we at least need some fresh thinking coaching the first team.

Absolute shambles again, 14 shots on target villa have 1 and have scored two.
Potter problems shining through yet again, he's got no ability to get this team fired up and back again after not playing, but to be fair to the guy why would he? He has never managed a top tier team and has no experience in getting players back in after a break.

It's not been good has it? For a while I've wanted to back the manager because (a) he did good stuff at Brighton (b) I liked the idea of changing philosophy to a new team that might take 2-3 years to get going; we've generally not done that and it worked for MU a long time ago and it looks to be going well in North London (yeah not that bit ). But this new scheme just doesn't seem to be working and more to the point I'm not seeing the progression. Ditching Tuchel was clearly a bad idea driven by emotion instead of business sense but we are where we are. So.... go back to Galatico managers who deliver in year 1-2 and then leave at huge expense, or keep with an idea do build something that'll succeed for years and years.... but with the risk you've invested a vast amount of time & £££ in something(someone) that might not work?
For all we know, we could be sitting here in 2025 saying Potter knew his gameplan all along just about to win the title... Tricky one, but doesn't change that fans watching every game would like to see success all the time rather than wait.

I think it’d all be more palatable if there was some sort of attempt at a fight by the players and some consistent selection of the team with a clearly defined way of playing. I don’t see either. To be honest Emery has been a far more impressive manager of Villa than Potter has for Chelsea. Been at the game and as soon as we saw the starting back 3 it was obvious. Never looked like scoring and as soon as we concede the ste first goal the result was never in doubt.
Every corner Villa had every man in the box yet we'd hit the first man or Mings every time. As much as I hate a short corner, when every man is back in the area try something different ffs. Subs on yet play the same system. Ending the game with Reece still at RCB is a joke and it felt like Kante was the only one making a sodding forward run.
