To be honest Emery has been a far more impressive manager of Villa than Potter has for Chelsea.
The stats back that up as well, only Arsenal and Man City have won more PL games than Villa since Emery took over.

That was awful.

Never looked like scoring. No style of play or pattern. Players played out of position.

this is not a player problem. Potter hasn’t a clue.

Been at the game and as soon as we saw the starting back 3 it was obvious. Never looked like scoring and as soon as we concede the ste first goal the result was never in doubt.

Every corner Villa had every man in the box yet we'd hit the first man or Mings every time. As much as I hate a short corner, when every man is back in the area try something different ffs. Subs on yet play the same system. Ending the game with Reece still at RCB is a joke and it felt like Kante was the only one making a sodding forward run. banghead
I feel sorry for you paying to watch it.

It's one directional, obvious and boring football like this and players just aren't going to develop if it continues.

No idea why he has RLC playing where he does, RJ is playing like half the man he was.

We had a glimmer of light against Dortmund but I'm fed up with it now.

Potter and the chairman may not be performing as we'd like, but you cannot blame them for that early chance that fell to Mudryk. A fking non league player plays that square to Havertz for an open goal tap in, and we're 1 up on 2 mins and it's a different game. You sign an international footballer for £88m, you don't have to coach him that.

Too many players and making dreadful decisions on the pitch, too often.

Just don’t understand the thinking behind players playing out of position. RLC is definitely NOT a winger/ wingback, RJ is not a centre back and when he’s played there we also lose one of our best threats as a wingback. So many players look uncomfortable in their positions but it looks like if they were to question it, they’ll be on the bench. And don’t even get me started on fkin ‘Chrystal Tipps’ Cucerella !!!

Hey, I was actually right about something. Only shock is it took this long, should have happened right after the Southampton game.

Feel for him a bit as the overall situation wasn't his fault

Inevitable though after recent performances

Not entirely his fault but something needed to change. Who’ll replace him? Poch?

I do feel for him. Did great things at Brighton, but joins Chelsea after the season has started, no pre season with the players and Bohley just starts buying st loads of players with no real plan and now they are left with a huge squad and no idea what the best team is.

Then don’t bother signing a striker. Couldn’t make it up

The 'long term project' lasted 7 months.

Back to the managerial merry go round.

Was he even out of his probationary period?

I know results haven't been good for you, but seriously this is nuts. It hardly bodes well for the new ownership regime this. He'll have a decent payout, but still. Do you think Boehly even has a plan at this point? Or is it just throw enough st at the wall and see what sticks? Coming from a fan of a team currently trying to get rid of it's owners, it makes you think.

Hang on a bit, he did choose to play Loftus Cheek as a winger and Cucerella at centre back along with a load of other players playing out of their natural positions, so yeah, unless Boehley was picking the team, it was his team and tactics to blame.
I won’t be starting a ‘go fund me’ for him though ££££££’s

I wonder what his pay-off will be as he's supposedly on a 12million a year 5 year deal.

My main worry with Chelsea is that a number of players, including Mount + Kovacic are apparently not interested in signing new deals.

With the amount of money spent, I don't see how we can afford to lose players for free like we did with Rudiger.

Players not being interested in signing new contracts is a worrying sign for me, Chilwell also only 2 years left on current contract.

He was ok at Brighton, de Zerbi is much better.

Yes he hasn’t been helped by the recruitment however many of last seasons team are still there and he’s made them all worse players, to a man.

Tuchel should never have been sacked. That was the first error but appointing Potter was a massive gamble on a manager who hadn’t done that much to be honest.

Yeah, never had a chance really. Bunch of lightweight looking players that he probably had no input into signing who don't fit the way that he wants to play. Then injuries to key players plus some big departures who were never adequately replaced.

Still, new guy will no doubt sort it all out in no time. What a mess.
