Instead of getting angry the Neville called us bottlers, explain to me how we didn't bottle extra time?
Neville's a rude little twonk, it's not the sort of stuff I'd want anyone growing up to hear as it's just dam rude and insulting.

They choked and got done by a sucker punch, both teams were abysmal.

Watching on sky with commentary on Chelsea app, 10 seconds delay or so it’s easy to avoid Neville and spitter if you wanted to.

Equally bet 10 quid just before extra time as I only saw this going one way after last 20 minutes of normal time ( bookies are always right as ever)

They choked.....another way of saying we bottled it.

Playing out for pens (if that was the idea) is a stupid tactic anyway, quite apart from it being a lottery anyway
It's pretty much the exact opposite of a lottery. A lottery is 100% chance. A pen shootout is 99% nerve and skill. The game itself is a more like a lottery than the shootout.

We've had 4 pen shootouts against Liverpool over the years, and lost them all. That tells me that perhaps they prepare better for them.

OK Obi Wan. I was using an oft used quote, not something I made up this morning. I disagree that it's 99% nerve and skill, there is a fair percentage of luck in the mix too - eg keeper cannot wait till you kick so has to guess. Guess the right way and no matter how good your pen is he might very well save it because he took a 50/50 and went the right way (admittedly ignoring the few who drill it down the middle). Anyway, we didn't get to a shootout so it really doesn't matter. One off pens in game, we're covered whilst Palmer and Enzo are on the pitch.

Do you watch football? Both teams abysmal? That’s mad. Was a good game in regulation time and I’m amazed it stayed 0-0 with both teams creating good chances. Extra time only one team tried to win it ahead of penalties and so rightly got the win. Far from abysmal for a game of football.

Adam.

I was in the pub with an Arsenal and MU fan and we all agreed it was an excellent end-to-end game to watch despite the lack of goals, with a bit of everything (VA controversy, stupid ref decsisions)

Quite astonishing that Liverpool managed to win despite their young age. Well done to the knowledgeable commentary team for driving that point home repeatedly

I watch quite a bit of football and quite like goals being involved?

Yes, it's an oft used quote, but it's nonsense.

Re the luck element. Le Tissier took 49 pens and scored 48 in his career. The keeper would have gone the right way in many of those, but it made no difference. Same with Van Nistelroy. A well taken pen, hit hard into the top corner or so it hits the inside of the side netting, can't be saved. It's not luck Le Tissier scored 48/49

In the 2012 CL final, Cech faced 6 pens, 1 during the game and 5 in the shootout, and went the right way every time. That wasn't luck, it was hours of study and preparation.

There's very little luck in a pen shootout. Maybe the player slipping at he runs up to shoot, or something like that. But it's almost entirely a test of nerve and skill and keepers doing their homework.

Bottom line is Poch shows his spursy colours and went for penalties rather than finishing Liverpool off.

Why is Sanchez starting? Does Poch not realise that our whole season rests on tonight?

8 minutes of dire ste and a goal to Leeds from perhaps the worst bit of defending I’ve ever seen. We are a joke.

Very poor 2nd half, not sure we deserved to win that. Not convinced the manager gets the club at all.

Meanwhile, rumours that FFP is a huge problem for us this season, and Gallagher and James will go in the summer to try and plug the hole.

Just when you thought that the new owners couldn't possibly screw the club any more...

You lot really are a massive bunch of whiners, are you honestly Chelsea fans?

What was wrong with starting Sanchez? Poch clearly trusted him?

How many games has James played a season? He's easy money, get rid of him if you ask me. Gusto performing well.
Chalobah can go, that'll be 20mill odd.

I honestly just think you need to get out of the Roman era and start supporting a club in development.

All this FFP stuff is a joke, the press honestly have nothing better to talk about.

They were ste from the kickoff against a championship team. Other prem teams must be jealous
