Im a big fan of Sterling’s, but there needs to be discipline in the team around who takes pens and free kicks. And it isn't him. Man up and manage, Poch.

Its laughable.

So in need of a proper leader on the pitch to put a stop to this nonsense.

Poch is as much as fault though, there should be clear enough reinforcing of pre-match instructions from the touchline to put players in their place.

So who had "kick it into your own net from 30 yards out" on their "almost snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" bingo card?

I'm so done with Stirling. He's awful. Sanchez should never play if Petrovic is fit and needs to be sold, along with Stirling.

Let's pray for Coventry in the semi. That's our only hope of making the final. But I wouldn't even be having money on us beating them.

Cmon the Chelsea back to wemberlee.

It was a funny old game, should had been 5-0 in reality with the missed penalty etc.

It feels like we have a revolving wheel of who to criticise next on this thread, before AFCOn it was Jackson, Mudryk, Caceido I could go on.

I see improvements in this team and it's nice to see.

Poch has said he's happy for the players to make pen taker decisions on the pitch! Ffs, he's the manager, what is he getting paid for. There should be a pen taking order. If No1 is on the pitch (Palmer) he takes it. Then no 2 (Enzo?) etc. Stirling is No 11.

That's actually part of the manager's job. fking clown.

Agreed.

Going to get nowhere with an idiot like that at the helm (along with the idiots in the board room)

Why are you so bothered about a penalty in the 1/4 final of the FA Cup against Leicester? If Cole Palmer takes one and misses it in the Semi final it's no different.

Sterling pounced for the second goal but was ste all game, its football and he is nearer 30 than 20 so he'll lose performance sometimes.

Nobody seems to be discussing the Own goal anywhere that was another mistake?

Because players making their own decisions of that kind shows a complete lack of discipline and a lack of leadership from the manager. Same for playing Sanchez instead of Petrovic. Petrovic is our best keeper, and this was a must win game. But the manager is too weak and doesn't want to have a confrontation with Sanchez.

We've seen this before from Poch, playing Kane in the CL Final when he clearly wan nowhere near fit. Spurs won nothing under his tenue. PSG the same (bar the French league and they're effectively the only team in it). He said February was a fantastic month for us, despite losing twice, including 2-4 at home to Wolves.

He doesn't get the mentality at the club, and mediocre is good enough for him.

That was 10% Disasi, for not checking before the pass back, and 90% Sanchez. I doubt Disasi expected Sanchez to go walkabout, and go further than I go on holiday, from his goal. No wonder he was Brighton's 3rd choice goalie. And we paid £25m for this halfwit. rofl

Sterling probably thought he would take it as the offence was against him.

He's a footballer he wants goals.

BTW Spurs will never win anything.....

That's not how it works. If he doesn't know that after this long in the game, then something's wrong. It should never had been a debate. The manger should have laid down the law about who takes pens.

We know he wants goals. We saw that a month or so back when he was one on one with the keeper with Palmer 5 yards to his right with an open goal ahead of him, but instead of squaring it, he hit a feeble shot straight at the keeper. He may want goals, but he should put Chelsea wanting goals ahead of that.

£300K a week he gets paid, and his decision making is the worst of any player in the division.

TBF Stirling is at his best when he doesn’t have to think, instincts work better for some players if they feel the pressure to score, it can be a weight on their shoulders. Think back to Torres when he had a blue shirt….

Jimmy Floyd H said the same on ITV after the match on TV.....pretty much said as soon as he needs to engage brain, it all falls apart.

To be fair, Drogba was a bit like that. A brilliant instinctive goal scorer, but 1 on 1 running in on goal with time to think about what he was going to do, very rarely did he score.

Compare Drogba's 1 on 1s with Torre Andre Floe and Eidur Gunjohnsson. They were both miles better.

But Drogba did more than enough for you to overlook that failing. Stirling doesn't.
