I never thanked Classichimi for putting the photos up.

I suppose I could post a couple more this is only a couple of weeks ago so about 19-20 months since installation.
Basically there's no nasty old wiring, everything works first time every time and has been bullet proof so far.
The days of hot start problems are gone due to new relay and starter cables etc. No immobiliser issues since.
The more I read the more I feel this was the correct choice for me over other Ecu mainly due to the install itself. Then the mapping, I'm very particular and if I'm not happy I'll be knocking the door, took a couple of goes, once on rolling road and a bit of road mapping then again after I'd taken it to France and back, just smoothed out the last bit of shunting at around 1400 revs which is over stating it and it's been magnificent since.
Some may not like the lack of raised revs when cold as in auto choke ( stepper) when first started but I find even in cold climbs it takes about 20-30 seconds just holding the revs with throttle at 1200-1600 revs to firstly get oil sloshing and then it will settle on 900 tickover without drama from then on. It's really good. I don't like the stepper involved and mine proves it's not needed at all. It will idle on 900 from -5 within seconds but I like to get oil circulating a bit first
Much appreciated gents, was exactly what I was hoping to see - neat, tidy and a much better looking engine bay.
Andy at Powers Performance is digging out a few answers to questions in my my email and I hope to be able to pull the trigger very shortly......................next step, polishing lessons from Alun

You'll notice rust and all sorts, you'll also notice I take these pics out the sunlight or you'll be blinded
Ok you get maybe a bit more power, quite a bit of torque which I think is the same amount of torque applied better, reliability and much cheaper servicing etc.
You get used to all of that, it's my fuel gauge I struggle with, it doesn't go down and I tap the blighter to check it's not stuck, I don't believe it runs that different on a cruise at 70-90 mph than any other system including CUX but it doesn't waste so much fuel on start up or when engines very hot and this alone makes a big difference in fuel return figures without the driver really doing anything different.
Misfires,,, what's that.
The way the Ecu uses advance and retard unleashes power, it accelerates faster and for longer and the Map ( Mass Air Pressure) sensor really gets the air fuel mixture spot on,,,, I assume that's what it's doing anyway.
I've recently gone de Catt and it feels faster at the top end.
Catted and mapped it was around or just under 300 Bhp
I'd say it's maybe 305-310 Bhp at least with Clive Y.
The best bit is the throttle, just so exact and joyous to use, easier to catch wheel spin and control the power. Like good brakes, confidence inspiring and make it easier and far better to drive.
Slow speed manners are as good as I could imagine and shunting doesn't exist.
New Dif completes that picture because it doesn't matter how good the Ecu is if there's Dif slop you'll still have it.
Most impressively it's the base engine temp that's changed the most, I have an alloy rad so it all makes a difference but since MBE it just runs at 70c like clockwork, goes upto about 80 in traffic, fans come on/off and extended periods in traffic gauge goes upto about 92-95 but fans are kicking in and out so actually engines water temp is about 88 constant. Get your software on an old lap top and you can check all the engine parimeters rather than just relying on the gauges which as we know wander,,,,
Once you learn your way around the MBE software Jason will show you what parimeters and things you can adjust!!!! and % the Ecu will self adjust things too. It's all very good stuff.
I might pay for Jason's time for the day at Shakespear raceway ( joke
Because he mentioned how you can say do a drag run, look at map, decide where you can make gains via map adjust and have another run,, you can get more than one map too if your so inclined.
Going forward it's a great thing to add to the car and it might cost you a few grand but it's got to add £1000 value instantly and over time you save on all sorts of things and so much less stress owning and running the car.
