Fun fact: the FA's entire annual investment in womens football is less than a year's wages for Wayne Rooney.

England keeper Karen Bardsley out of the tournament with a fractured leg. Considering she initially played on for another 5 odd minutes, hobbled off when substituted & hobbled around the pitch afterwards celebrating with her team mates it just adds to the mockery of the ultimate athletes that make up the mens professional game throwing themselves to the ground like 5 year olds.

Yes, she tried to keep playing on until being subbed- that's pretty impressive.

Certain sports women play just as entertainingly as men. Football may be one: I thought the Olympic women's hockey final was amazing.

If they go on to win it, will the FA follow the RFU's lead and cut all the funding for the main team? wink #RFUeejits

And her we go again.

Dutch keeper throwing herself on the floor for a cheap yellow card.

Good start by the lionesses so far.

Schoolgirl defending for that goal, no pressure on the winger at all allowing her to cross under no pressure and our No5 didn't jump to defend the ball allowing a free header at goal. frown

Please can we avoid daft jingoistic labelling? The ladies don't look anything like lions and anyway a lioness would more likely attack a spectator than dribble a ball past another player.

Unfortunately the Dutch ladies team are quite happy emulating the men by going to ground very quickly and feigning pain until the free kick is awarded.
