Lacked a cutting edge tonight. A draw not the end of the world but disappointing given how we dominated the game. Klopp taking off Mane instead of Firmino was a strange decision. Firmino was largely anonymous and ineffective. Moreno on the other hand seems to be getting better and better.
On to the next one.
On to the next one.

Even I am not that pessimistic.I don't even play Fifa but I know we don't have a gelled team yet.
I hate to sound this negative but it's a real struggle watching us this year, Klopp has a big job ahead IMHO.

Really?Maribor next twice..that will be 6 points
These at home will be hammered too
That's 11 points
So what results are you seeing ?
Hornet..in answer to your earlier question Barca
We simply miss to many chances don't matter who plays..we have started with studge this year and it was the same ...
As much as I do love firmino I'm now thinking where we would he with a Suarez , Kane, Aguero
This is not just blame on Bobby but 1 goal opens teams up then more goals come... We simply have to be more clinical
Migs would have saved that too ...

Then i see this stat
As C.F. firmino has scored 23 in 47 and assisted 19 so been involved in 42 goals in 47 games ??
1 in 2 is a great record. But...you just get the impression he's not a natural goal scorer. As C.F. firmino has scored 23 in 47 and assisted 19 so been involved in 42 goals in 47 games ??
Still, it's nice to not have to blame the defence for a poor result. Good of our attack to take some of the heat.

You have to question Klopp's continued love affair with Karius. Yes he is German, yes he was bought from one of his old clubs. Has this clouded Klopp's judgement?
Karius is continually error prone. I haven't seen anything to offer up a glimmer of hope that he could go on to be even just decent/solid. When you are playing in the top club competition, you don't put in a complete novice like Karius in goal. Klopp seems infatuiated with him. He made him the No. 1 keeper last season and then laughably backtracked after continued poor performances.
I also don't agree with Klopp continually changing the back five. One thing we need right now is consistency especially in defence. The back 5 need to be settled and develop a strong understanding. All this chopping and changing... I don't agree with it.

What Klopp has demonstrated is that he holds firm on his beliefs. Karius was his man, so he'll back him in the same way he wouldn't let Sakho back in.
Per earlier comments I'd rather see a conservative back 5 than one which features at least one player who can't defend.
I'd rather see Milner, Matip, Lovren and TAA (until Clyne is fit), playing in front of Mings, for a run of four or five games. If we also need to sit Henderson and Can in front of them to get some clean sheets then so be it. Salah/Mane/Coutinho/Sturridge/Firmino/Lallana should be able to get the goals.
Everyone likes seeing attacking football with goals being scored but I'd really rather have less in the F column if it means a lot less in the A.
Someone pointed out the other day that one of our issues at set pieces is the size of the team. There's no big men winning headers to take pressure off the centre backs and keeper. Other sides have the luxury of marking the opponent's bigger men, size for size if you like, at set pieces and then having at least one player who attacks everything that comes in the box.

I also thought TAA played much better than Gomez, thought he didn't have too much to do defensively.
I'm not sure I share your optimism Sye over how well we'll do at home. Just like Sevilla, those teams will come to Anfield at sit back and defend like their lives depended on it (hell Spartak did it at home last night!). I can see us struggling to break them down, like we always do. We may win, and I hope they'll be a hammering in there at some stage, but I can see slim margins in any victory we have.

Defence was decent last night with what they had to do, apart from Karius who is a liability and i agree Klopp seems unreasonably loyal to him.
I thought Henderson was poor last night, in 15 mins of the second half i counted 11 of 15 passes that were backwards, and that is from a player that usually takes the ball off the centre backs! He is good at whipping in crosses from deeper than usual but he didn't do that enough last night.
If we had taken half of the clear cut chances we had we would have beaten them comfortably, but it was just one of those nights and this makes our other faults even more obvious.
We have changed keeper every game for the last 6 matches, in a defence that is short on confidence that is not the way to do things. We should stick Karius in the reserves and let Ward have the FA cup matches and Mings everything else
