If jonny evans were still available a day before the window would people want him to bolster our defence?

Sounds like about £30m would get him, it is a lot for an older player but he would improve what we have now and he has premier league and champions league experience

If not, any alternatives?

I didn't say we should get him, i asked a question.

No-one has bothered to come up with any alternatives yet to improve our squad...or would people rather bh and moan than talk about the club?

Matip was £0 and 'un tried' in the prem league - why do so many people think the premier league is this special league that if a player proven to be a good player both club and international suddenly turns into some Sunday league player once they arrive on our shores?

I don't, but you have to agree that there is the potential they might, and lesser chance for someone that already plays here.

If the multi millionaires at the multi billion pound Man City think £30m for Evans is a good deal do you think they should listen people from ph instead?

He's a world cup winning German international He's more experienced than Evans. €20M would get him apparently. The German league is just as physical as the PL, so I don't buy the untested bit. Matip's done rather well, yes...?

Regarding his comments about a moving, I thought they were rather ambiguous and related more to not moving to another club within Germany.

I didn't try and rubbish it, i asked a question about his value. Seems there is some disagreement about whether he would want to move anyway so i suggest we leave it there. i was just trying to start a discussion about people we could buy but i wont bother if people are only interested in criticising fellow fans of the same club
