Old article, but not many question Mike Edwards now, without him and his team we would not be seeing Firmino or Salah here so his methods obviously work...

Love this part of the article ''The committee have yet to explain how they came up with the figure of £29million to sign Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, who finished eighth in the Bundesliga last season.''

I dont know st like this but just had a look at Arsenal company accounts on company check

They had 80m in cash in Arsenal FC and 180m in cash in Arsenal Holdings, Manchester United had 278m in cash - we have 8m - why the hell is our so low in comparison???

The same transfer committee and stats team that left Rodgers with a choice between an ageing Samuel Eto'o and Mario Balotelli when we needed a striker and our bid for Sanchez failed.

No concern.

I merely posted the reason why all other clubs had backed away from Sanchez.

Woodburn not going out on loan now apparently. That would seem to indicate there's no Coutinho replacement in this window.

That wont go down well with the masses.

I don't mind we've not got a Coutinho replacement tbh. I was more worried before the City game. I know we need someone to break down '10 behind the ball' teams like Utd, but I think we'll still get top four.

Liverpool comfortably at the top of the team rotation league:

Same.

Just need Lalana to step up and do the creative stuff in those games where teams defend deep, and we can move to a 2 man CM.

Not sure who’ll take the free kicks now though. VVD is supposed to be good, but don’t see him taking all of them!

I can't tell you more without seeing the accounts in detail but cash balance means not a great deal - arbitrary decision as to how owners wish to finance the club and their dividend policy - cash can flow in and out of the balance sheet at the owners whim to an extent.

Better to look at the P&L and how revenues and costs are trending.

For example an American owner with lots of cash sitting in a UK subsidiary, might want to repatriate profits back to US (withdraw cash) due to the recetn Trump tax reform
