I'm back on the Wirral today so will be going along to the game later. Hopefully it will be an exiting encounter like those from the late nineties and I am sure Rafa will receive a warm reception.
There's something about the Liverpool vs Newcastle games that creates a special feeling. Two clubs with a history of playing attacking football and supported by passionate fans probably helps although expectations hit a new level after the greatest premier league game of all time. I remember when we played them the year after and had the same result (4-3) and before the game I joked about putting a bet on the result being the same. It's probably a good thing I can't remember the odds!
I think I shall be driving my trusty old land rover to the game as modern day SUV's aren't really cut out for this weather, although I should put some winter tyres on at some point to be fair.
Right, I need to finish my jobs and set a good example and then say goodbye to my horses (what has living in the city done to me?!) before I can even think about heading over to Anfield.
Take care anyone that is making the journey as the roads (I mean other drivers) are very unpredictable.
